I submitted a DSA complaint (ADR Center, Ref: 20260325-0005) regarding the demonetization of my channel. The case was reviewed and forwarded to YouTube 13 days ago.

The response deadline is tomorrow, yet I have received no response or update from YouTube regarding my case.

@masteroogwgay @DigitalEU @EUCouncil If you are about creator's mental health then you should force the DSA to comply and make them disclose what content caused a demonetization so you don't have to destroy your channel hoping you deleted whatever their AI flagged. Privileged creators get told.

The Digital Service Act is supposed to protect consumers and businesses on VLOPs (Very Large Online Platforms) but all it actually does is give the EU the right to fine them.

If you file a DSA complaint and it gets reviewed and agreed upon, the platform can still just ignore it. Your only option after that is court, but here's the problem: the DSA gives you zero framework for compensation and zero obligation for the platform to reinstate your account.

The DSA technically says you can seek compensation in court. But how? How is a judge supposed to calculate damages when there's no way to prove what you would have earned if you were never banned? Your future revenue, your growth, your opportunities, all hypothetical. Platforms know this. It makes the compensation clause almost impossible to actually use.

I went through this with YouTube. My DSA complaint was valid. The case was reviewed. It changed nothing. The only consequence for YouTube if they violated the rules is a fine paid to the European Union, not to me.

@EU_Commission @Henna_Virkkunen @ACM_nl are you making these laws to actually protect consumers and businesses, or just to gain leverage over these platforms so the fines come back to you?

Because right now that's exactly what it looks like. If it's really about protection, add mandatory reinstatement obligations and a clear damages framework. Until then, it's not a consumer protection law, it's a revenue tool.
