@AFellowThefo6p@DefiantBaptist Yet, this isn’t what “they think.” This is what the LDS actually teaches. And you have yet to tell anyone what is inaccurate…because nothing they said is wrong.
I used to believe in birth control as a means to reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies and abortions, but I changed my mind. Here’s why.
In 1968, Pope Paul VI wrote Humanae Vitae and was mocked for it. He saw exactly where we were headed.
He predicted that widespread contraception would open the door to more infidelity, a lowering of moral standards, and men viewing women as something to use instead of someone to honor and protect. This is what happens when we separate sex from commitment and from the possibility of life.
Contraception didn’t reduce abortion; it helped build the mindset that made abortion inevitable and provided another opportunity to profit off women’s bodies.
When society is told that it is possible have sex without consequences, the baby is viewed as a failure.
A child is not a failure. We shouldn’t be surprised that a child results from a procreative act.
We fail ourselves by dividing sex from the goodness God created it for. We fail our children by viewing them as accidents.
@LowerLeavell@lawindsor Why does I Nephi 10 quote the gospel of John while claiming to be written in 600 BC? No Mormon ever has a good answer to this question and it should make the whole thing pretty obviously a fraud from the get-go. The Gospel of John wouldn’t be written for another 600+ years
YouTuber Jesse Ridgway, who aborted his baby because it had Down Syndrome, says he is glad his own dad didn’t abort him because he is ‘normal.’
“Yeah of course I’m glad my dad didn’t f***ing terminate me- I’m normal.”
@VBMillennial And no, an abortion clinic does not perform digoxin abortions at 21 weeks. How would I know? I worked at one for 8 years. They do exactly what I described.
Let’s talk about the Ridgway influencer couple who decided to abort their child with Down syndrome.
1). Having an abortion because you don’t want to care for a child with long-term needs is not an excuse… Parenthood comes with no guarantees. You could birth a perfectly healthy baby who then gets handicapped in a car accident. Are you going to discard that child?
2). They claimed they didn’t want to bury their child. Yet, they had an abortion at 21 weeks. The child had its limbs ripped off and its skull crushed. It’s your responsibility as a parent to bear the heartbreak and pain that comes with parenthood. Not m*rder your child to avoid it.
3). The Ridgway’s are not the victims. The child they m*rdered is. This child would still be alive if abortion was criminalized.
@VBMillennial So if there is significant trauma during birth and the baby has cerebral palsy, do they get to the make the decision then?
You don’t get to decide someone’s humanity once they are already human.
Yes, I have studied it very carefully. One of my dearest friends was part of the LDS assembly and I have great respect for them. I know their beliefs in details and have read the Book of Mormon. I work hand in hand with many LDS members in the prolife fights and talk regularly about our differences in theology. Their primary reference for “scripture” is the Book of Mormon, not the Bible. I’m able to dialogue with people who believe differently than I do because I’m an adult.
@Happy_Tisha@RepMikeKennedy How someone behaves does not make one a Christian. I know several atheists who are fine, lovely people. They are not Christians because of their behavior.
