It was an honor to join members of the diplomatic corps at Entoto Park for the 2026 Green Legacy tree-planting initiative.
The event underscored our shared commitment to addressing climate change through collective action, stronger partnerships, and sustained global cooperation. Every seedling planted today represents a meaningful step toward a greener, more resilient future.
Since its launch in 2019, Ethiopia's Green Legacy Initiative has inspired millions of citizens and led to the planting of more than 40 billion seedlings nationwide.
As Ethiopia prepares to host COP32 in 2027, we look forward to deepening collaboration with our international partners to promote climate action, environmental stewardship, and sustainable development.

I was honored to lead a constructive discussion aimed at enhancing private sector participation in international and continental summits and conferences to be hosted in Our Country-Ethiopia.
The meeting brought together private transport investors in order to focus on establishing adequate, reliable, and high-quality transport services during major events we host in Addis Ababa. Such collaborative efforts are essential for building a positive national image and fostering sustainable, long-term capacity within our transport sector.
Beyond their profound diplomatic significance, such major international summits and conferences play a pivotal role in boosting tourism and driving the national economy. Recognizing this, our Ministry—in close coordination with the Ministry of Transport and Logistics and other key stakeholders—will continue to provide the necessary support to ensure private investors play a leading role in the transport and logistics landscape.
