[Hon. Ahmed FIQI @AhmedMoFiqi]

[SONNA @SONNALIVE]

Massive queues have already formed at polling stations across Mogadishu as residents wait for hours to cast their votes. The eagerness and high turnout signal a historic day for the capital as the Benadir local council elections begin.

We held a formal luncheon meeting and consultative engagement with representatives of the Somali business community. The discussions focused on a comprehensive review of the national situation, the impact of recurrent droughts on several regions of the country, the challenges facing the private sector, and avenues for advancing Somalia’s state-building process.

The meeting was conducted in a constructive and cordial atmosphere and concluded with a shared understanding on the importance of enhanced cooperation. Particular emphasis was placed on the private sector’s role in supporting humanitarian response efforts for drought-affected communities, as well as its continued contribution to national recovery and state-building initiatives.

I extend my sincere appreciation to Hon. Abdirahman Abdishakur and Dr. Mohamed Adan Koofi for their participation and valued contributions to the discussions.

The Somali business community continues to play a pivotal role in economic development, institutional strengthening, and support to vulnerable populations. It is therefore essential that the sector is accorded due recognition, protected from undue constraints, and enabled to operate in an environment that minimizes unnecessary burdens and promotes sustainable growth.

Buuggani oo dhawaan la soo bandhigi doono wuxuu dul istaagayaa awoodda, ruuxda, iyo karaanka sababta u ahaa in aan adkaysi u yeesho duruufahaa adag iyo xaaladahaa qallafsan.

Wuxuu kaloo dul istaagayaa waayihii nololeed ee isoo maray, dhaqdhaqaayadii siyaasadeed iyo kuwii diineed ee aan ka midka noqday, dhacdooyinkii siyaasadeed ee aan u soo joogay iyo raadka ay ku yeesheen fahamkayga nolosha, fikirkayga siyaasadda iyo aragtidayda dunida.

Waxaan rejaynayaa in uu wax badan faa’iideeyn doono, jidbixin iyo tusmo la mahdiyana u noqon doono jiilka maanta iyo kuwa mustaqbalka.
