Algorithms Are Colonising African Youths
Nigerian historian Iyo Obietonbara argues that social media algorithms are a tool of colonialism, influencing what African youths consider valuable. Instead of building organisations to struggle for liberation, many of our young people are making videos about trivial matters.

I may not agree with everything Ycee said but one thing I agree with him on is “We don’t reward education in Nigeria”.
This is the reason most people who spent years reading a course in the university is abandoning it for ring light because in Nigeria, education doesn’t pay much.
The grand patron of Olodo uprisers.
The man, the myth, the legend - the very template of Olodo uprisers.
Aesthetically deficient, mentally deficient - the very patent of innocent foolishness.
In a different world, would definitely cross pollinate with Olori to birth Seyilaw.
Nobody’s child should die because of who their family votes for. That’s not politics.
Elections should be won through persuasion and evidence, not intimidation

It's another cold rainy day to remind you that some kids as young as 2 years, with their teachers, are somewhere in the forest in Oyo state with kidnappers. 😭
“I was a Wizkid fan from the beginning. I had a lot of argument in school because of Wizkid & Davido. When he started making soft music, I kept complaining that I need to hear the struggle but I started to enjoy Wizkid’s music again when life got better for me.”

There’s a lady in my office who got married early last year, and she is easily one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Tell her your problem, and before you even finish explaining, she’s already thinking of solutions. If there’s work that needs to be done and the person responsible isn’t available, she simply steps in and gets it done without complaints. She’s the kind of person who keeps things moving because she genuinely cares.
Last year, we partnered with a Lebanese businessman on a project at Blenco. He relocated to Nigeria for a while to be fully involved in the project, and because moving around was difficult, he bought a Toyota Highlander to ease his transportation.
Everyone in the office saw how much this lady contributed to the success of the project and how selflessly she treated everyone around her.
Today, we came to work and there was a small celebration because the Lebanese man was leaving Nigeria and wanted to host the team before his departure. We were eating, drinking, and having a good time when he walked in with our boss, called her out in front of everyone, and handed her the documents and keys to the Toyota Highlander.
Then he said something that almost made everyone emotional:
“I don’t want you jumping buses from Ikate to Sangotedo every day anymore.”
Just like that, she became a car owner.
Imagine showing up to work on a random day and going home with a vehicle worth over 50 million simply because people have seen your kindness, your dedication, and the way you treat others.
I was so happy for her mehn, I first run am fuel money!
This is their 41st night as victims of terrorists! Little children!!! 41 Nights!!!

It’s been approximately 40 days since 39 pupils and 7 teachers were abducted in Oyo State. 💔
As we continue with our daily lives, let’s not forget them. Keep them and their families in your thoughts and prayers, and may they all return home safely. 🙏🏽❤️
“The judge refused to allow Sowore bail and he sent Sowore back to pr!s0n, mind you, Sowore has been challenging this judge so anytime Sowore appears before him, he always ask Sowore to pull his wrist watches, pull his glasses, he almost asked Sowore to pull his pants today all because he’s scared of the proceeding being recorded”
