Once a fool, now a learned fool. Still a fool.

[Abdul 𓅫 @Abdulumarrr]

Oh, how I lost my math prowess. I once sat the cowbell math qualifying exam, though I didn’t make it to the next stage I was flattered that my school found me good enough to have a go at it. A muscle that is trained gets built. Guess I have to train it again in medical language.

[Abdul 𓅫 @Abdulumarrr]

@thefcharas Well I live in a lab tell him he’s welcome to haunt me there 🤣🤣

[Abdul 𓅫 @Abdulumarrr]

@thefcharas I’m not moved. I didn’t hear the Russian accent 🤣

[Abdul 𓅫 @Abdulumarrr]

I kind of do. I have an associative color hearing for the days of the week.

[𝑨𝒚𝒊𝒌𝒊✯ @BhadRx]

If I gain any more awareness I might start hearing colours.

@UkwuezeEmmanu15 My point is, even if the number is below the standard recommendation there are still people going into paeds. The case could be for other specialties too. The contention around our dwindling healthcare workforce has been inconducive environs, toxic teaching models, less incentives

[Abdul 𓅫 @Abdulumarrr]

Paediatric’s sweetness doesn’t negates its stressfulness. But the world as we know it hinges on a balance. One man’s dislikes is another man’s likes. And hey, the kids are cute. Our children will be fine.

[DR. STRONG @UkwuezeEmmanu15]

But wait oo, if we all run away from Paediatrics as a Specialty, who will now treat our Children? 🤔

[Abdul 𓅫 @Abdulumarrr]

Exclusive breastfeeding not exclusive birth control.

[𝗠𝘂𝗵𝗲𝗲 ♛ @muheediva01]

Did anyone else know that breastfeeding is a form of birth control effective for the first 6 months after giving birth??

[Abdul 𓅫 @Abdulumarrr]

Dinner had. Walking and catching the night cool breeze, scrolling through a good night Barca timeline. More than a club, more than a mood.

[Abdul 𓅫 @Abdulumarrr]

Now we’re talking.

This is pedri. It’s a game of moments and we just have to pick and capitalise on ours.

Maturing is realising we need each other. We have needed each other. We wouldn’t have survived without one of the others & humanity wouldn’t have come this far. Without each other there won’t be any other. So quit the bickering, comparison, and be the other that embraces another.

Yesterday Prof was asking why do we drink water?

Class: to quench test, to stay hydrated

Prof: no. We drink it because we can’t eat it

Prof: I didn’t asked you its benefits. Understanding the question is the answer itself.

Consultant stuff is the truth. You can have 10 prospective questions and they’ll cite one clinical scenario to throw you off. They’ll checkmate you with that ‘it’s okay, you’re here to learn and grow.’ They basically teach you the limits of your knowledge. You’ll get there too.

Residency tip:

Before presenting a case to your consultant, ask yourself: “What are the three questions I might be asked?”

Find their answers beforehand.

Do this consistently, and you'll realize something remarkable: you're no longer just preparing for questions. You're training yourself to think like a consultant.

I’m going to do what makes me tick, do my job and get the tick. So help me God.

[Abdul 𓅫 @Abdulumarrr]

Talking about Nigeria and its inefficiencies can feel pointless. It gets to a point where all you see are the inefficiencies (as an ordinary citizen it’s tiring). I don’t do it anymore (med school partly😂). Do what you can, if you can, and do it right remains the best approach.

[Abdul 𓅫 @Abdulumarrr]

The idea of a centrally concentrated power as a solution to the deep rooted problems that extend to every nook and cranny of the country is a one stretched too thin. But one held by too many. You can see it in how quick we’re to look for the man a hundred kilometres away, whilst+

It’s too much hiding behind numbers and less contact with the real numbers (people). Maybe I need to learn economics at a deeper level to understand. But really, it doesn’t take a degree to look outside.

[Abdul 𓅫 @Abdulumarrr]

I dislike the cherry picking of data that some of our people do to justify the harsh economic realities government policies inflict. The Singaporean PM recognises the high income = high cost of living while acknowledging their role to provide targeted support to those that…

[Abdul 𓅫 @Abdulumarrr]

We have our own peculiarities that needs addressing, but data that doesn’t capture lived reality is one that is skewed and misrepresents.

needs them (low and middle income households) without acting as being empathic is synonymous to being impractical. It’s a deliberate disregard of one approach to shy away from accountability and adoption of the other for justification.
