A wind turbine fire has broken out off the Hume Highway, southwest of Goulburn. The blaze is burning high on the turbine, making it inaccessible to firefighters. If a wildfire like the one that recently tore through the Grampians National Park were to sweep through an area with multiple installations, the outcome could be catastrophic. Despite these risks, there are plans to install 21,000 wind turbines across Australia.

When @Bowenchris says experts don’t support nuclear take a moment to consider what experts he is actually referring to.

These ‘experts’ likely have:
1/ No experience in nuclear
2/ A superficial knowledge of nuclear at best
3/ Strong connections to the renewable sector

One example is John Grimes from the so called @SmartEnergyCncl who did a press conference today with Chris Bowen.

He has repeated for months that nuclear will be 4% of the grid a figure that has been cited from the Prime Minster down.

That figure was as a result of dodgy ‘maths’ pretending an equivalent capacity solar or wind plant generates as much as a nuclear plant.

If they can’t get basic maths like this right why trust anything that they say?

We have many people in Australia with actual expertise in nuclear. The difference is they don’t have a major lobby behind them to get the same airtime that people like John get.

Linda Burney appears to have lost the plot now 🤷🏼‍♀️ She has launched an assault on Peter Dutton because he he dared to tell the truth and mentioned Yunupingu. Dutton was making the point that we don’t need an enshined Voice we simply need good leaders and good leadership.

This was the sin he committed. 👇🏻👇🏻

“I think there’s also an important point to make that in many Indigenous communities, East Arnhem Land for example, they’ve got a 90% attendance rate at school, they’ve got a logging company, they’ve got a building company, they’ve got housing, they’ve got a functioning society and in that instance it’s because of the leadership demonstrated by Yunupingu and others around him over the course of a long period, and that’s what we want to see replicated elsewhere,” Dutton said.

@heidimur Approximately 370 million litres of Class A recycled water is pumped out to sea every day on the Mornington Peninsula. What a waste! Our farmers have been begging for access for years from the State Government. Water is a critical recycling issue.
