Startup idea:
A lead generation tool, that scrapes and analyzes Reddit and other social platforms for opportunities, so a salesperson or a founder who's doing sales, can generate business from those opportunities.
For example, if someone on Reddit says "All my sales emails are going to spam, does anyone know how to fix it?". If I am building sales email automation software, then this is a mid-potential selling opportunity. And should be presented in a cool way, for example:
Channel: Reddit
Opportunity: Problem, emails going to spam
Potential: Mid
Value: $$
How to tackle: Reply on Reddit - link to the post, then send a message on LinkedIn.
Contact info: LinkedIn profile and email found.
Now I know that there are some tools for keyword search, but after trying them, they're all useless, because I have to predict all possible keywords that are related to opportunities, and then I have to go through thousands of posts to find one.
The value comes from the ability to find opportunities no matter how complicated the phrasing was, analyze those opportunities, and then scrape all needed and related information to help with closing the deal.
Unfortunately, I don't have time to work on this, but the technology we're building for Tapflow is kind of similar, so if anyone wants to work on this, I can add a lot of value.
I believe that there's a lot to be built on the sales prospecting front, weirdly, it's one of the weakest software verticals in my opinion. There are Billion dollar companies that are only taking data from LinkedIn and presenting it in tables with some extra filters. Completely useless.
Putting the moral and legal aside, doing things like this and publicly boasting about it is so mind-bogglingly dumb. Like why needlessly attract more enemies -- there are 2 billion Muslims who will not like it one bit.
I analyzed average salaries, startup cultural-fit, technical quality, and talent supply, to rank the TOP 10 COUNTRIES TO HIRE ENGINEERS FROM.
A thread:
8. Ukraine: With a score of 3.5, Ukraine excels in technical and cultural quality, backed by a substantial talent supply. Its highly educated engineers are well-versed in Western business standards, offering top-tier expertise for complex projects at competitive salaries.
Silence is complicity
We all owe it to our future selves, children, neighbors, and other humans who share this earth to speak up when things are wrong.
One of the core tenets of building a product is receiving user feedback. This means that whoever is working on something needs to hear what the users are experiencing.
If it's a SaaS software they need to know user behaviour. If it's a country they need to hear what the citizens are facing. If it's a building you need to hear how are the residents living their lives.
So let us all be honest, transparent, and a force for good and share our feedback whenever we see something wrong.
The best product managers, CEOs, or heads of state are seeking these data points.
Let's help them build a better product.
The US and UK are bombing one of the poorest countries in the world which is also suffering from famine. Why?
Because a bunch of guys are objecting against a genocide happening against Palestinians.
Let that sink in.
