It's kind of a miracle that despite constant "why can't I criticize fic writers/reserve my kudos/leave negative comments???" discourse, I've seen so many fic writers pack all their fics up into google drives and freely share the link out, knowing they have nothing to gain from it
if ao3 means so much to you and is such a big part of your daily life that you feel the weight of its absence now, let it also be a reminder about the importance of leaving kudos and comments even if its just a simple "i loved this!" to show writers you care about their hard work
@buckmyluck Ohhh that makes sense!! Im a fic writer and im personally all for the widespread sharing of fics, but i get why people might not want that 😅
@diazettes As a fic writer, my take is like. I wouldn’t be getting any engagement during this time anyways, and id rather people can still enjoy my fics than not :/
@adhdrewgooden I mean. For a lot of people fanfic replaces doomscrolling? Or like? Reading regular books? I think calling it an addiction is kinda weird lol
im sorry for being so annoying about ao3 criticism but man it is one of the last remaining websites with ZERO !!! ads online 😭 you dont need an app, you dont need a subscription its entirely free and its !!! ad-less !!!
I'm so sick, & I've been sick for weeks now, and my lungs feel soggy and I'm exhausted. I've been working so so hard on a sketch so I could do a watercolor piece for halloween, but there's no way I'm gonna get it done in time because I can barely function, nevermind paint
Idk i just feel like when ao3 is back up I need everybody to be heaps more graceful towards fic writers because if two weeks without their works is painful then maybe we shouldn't be discoursing weekly about how much you think they suck at writing.
