ORR diary - 3rd Jun 2026
Special day today - our 25th CM took oath of office, who was ironically Bengaluru Development Minister until last week and ORR was promised a major makeover in 3 months during last rains.
What a beautiful day to take out the car to reach office traversing Bannerghatta Road to Whitefield thru ORR
Morning
- started at 7:50am and reached Whitefield around 10:15am : total time taken is >2 hours
- ORR was choking at every major junction but Ibbaluru was special, taking >45 mins to cross it
Evening
- trying to act smart, left office around 3:45pm and reached home around 6:50pm. Totally humbled by ORR traffic. Major bottleneck near to Rainbow Hospital (Cement road) taking good 60 mins
This all on a day when there is not even a drop of rain.
No one was there to oversee on ORR today as everyone was busy in providing security to VVIPs visiting for his coronation.
All electronic billboards displaying the greatness of the ex-minister and congratulating him on becoming CM. Congratulations & all the best DK sir.
For me a day well spent on roads thinking of what all I missed WFH on Tuesday.

Karnataka DCM @DKShivakumar on Friday said govt plans to impose steep fines of Rs 50,000-₹1 lakh for each unauthorised flex banner, with police & civic bodies tasked with enforcement.
Govt will frame a new policy to ban street vending on main and sub-main roads, while allocating designated vending zones to keep footpaths clear. The decision was taken at a Greater Bengaluru Authority meeting attended by MLAs, officials and agencies.
Around 60,000 vendors have registered, of whom 30,000 have sought carts; only those with ID cards will be allowed to operate. Vendors leaving carts overnight risk seizure.
Old vehicles parked for long periods will be towed and dumped at designated yards & illegal parking will be strictly enforced using towing vehicles allotted to each corporation
@GBA_office@GBAChiefComm
@HaramiParindey They are busy catching bikers most of the year. I don’t think they have any regular tracking with @GBAChiefComm on civic issues. @CPBlr
@rahulmalviya Will not get fixed unless the right issues become election issues. Maybe some professionals should start a political party and people of Bangalore could fund it.
Condition of Panathur railway underpass.
This is one never ending saga.
Any state govt, BBMP and local MLA Limbavali are unable to fix this mess.
Every year same disaster.
This is what Pure corruption looks like.
Imagine contributing so much to the economy and getting this in return.
1km - 25 min
This is what happens when people are busy fighting language wars instead of questioning the politicians looting our money @ChristinMP_@TVMohandasPai
How Bannerghatta Road in #Bengaluru has turned into a hell-hole?
Thousands of motorists, including school kids, risk their lives navigating this broken & dusty road.

The issue is why was traffic blocked for 30 Mts? @CPBlr@DgpKarnataka why this overreach? Why are citizens treated like subjects and third class people like this? We are a democracy governed by runs of law and egalitarian. @DrParameshwara our Minister should review process to protect citizens who are his voters.
Tax Paying Middle Class Waiting for VIP to move in Bengaluru. A tax payer sits on the road, claims that his wife is pregnant. But No. He is not a VIP. Just a tax paying voter 😭😭😭
@DKShivakumar ji - Can you end VIP Culture???

The first picture shows the ground reality. The biggest culprits are auto riskshaws. Also, compare the area taken by cars v/s bikes. Many a times the governments have banned bike taxis instead of promoting it. Also, bikers don't get fair share of the road. Bike usage should be promoted by making bike riding safe. Its is super risky to ride bikes in Bangalore.
The reason for people to do this is to save time by going up the ramp and use flyover all the way to Ragiguda. The wrong side try is probably already a norm for the above mentioned reason. It would have been better if multiple entry and exits were planned before the flyover was made. Something the designers can keep in mind for the future.
I was going from HSR to BTM via the new flyover and as I was going down the ramp, a biker came from the opposite side. I’m sure this is not an isolated event. Wrong-side entry is totally reckless behaviour. It will get someone killed sooner or later.
Please install a lot more cameras to ensure safer roads for everyone.
@blrcitytraffic@CPBlr
@abezack They have not installed cameras to detect wrong side driving anywhere , that’s why wrong side driving is so rampant in Bangalore: @Jointcptraffic it’s time to install wrong side driving detection cameras else we cannot control this menace
Bengaluru is not a pedestrian- friendly city, GBA. Long stretches of usable footpaths are non-existent. When it rains, streets turn into death traps. Your post would pass off as excellent satire.
