@AriannaChelsea1 Mind you, there are those that believe a nice watch is a statement about the person wearing it - much like the way they dress or groom themselves. A job interview, a first date… it may be better to keep the Apple Watch at home on those occasions.
@AriannaChelsea1 It’s good to have both. Apple Watch for when you need an extension of your phone and apps. Abingdon watch for when you need a break from technology but still want something useful and beautiful.

So now that you know the difference, which material would you prefer on a watch strap?
When we made the decision to go with silicone as opposed to rubber, it was a tough but important decision. There are pros and cons to each material.
To the touch, rubber is harder, stiffer, and doesn’t bend as easily as silicone, which is softer, lighter (in weight), and has an almost powdery feel to it.
All of these factors were taken into consideration before determining the best material for our dive watch straps.
Silicone has excellent resistance to weathering and UV, and is often found in outdoor applications such as window seals. In contrast, rubber weathers very quickly & is not suited to outdoor applications. If your application involves exposure to the elements, silicone is better.
Silicone has relatively low abrasion resistance, and in applications where a part will be subjected to abrasion and wear, natural rubber is a better choice.
Natural rubber exhibits much higher tensile strength, tear strength and abrasion resistance than silicone. It is used in high wear applications such as tire treads and conveyor belts.
16mm or 20mm white silicone bands (on Nadia and Marina watches). Why silicone and not rubber? Should you care about the difference? We think so. Here’s why:
