Facts!

[Stoic Trader @StoicTA]

The sim prop industry sells loss-chasing as an escape from your 9-to-5.

You finish work, open X, watch a streamer hit a massive winner and think, “That could be me.”

Then Lanto talks about around 800 accounts and roughly $300k in expenses.

How the fuck is the average person living on a salary supposed to sustain that?

I don’t care how good a trader you are. Your bills don’t stop while you wait for the trade that finally covers all the failed attempts.

Recovering the fees only gets you back to zero. You still need enough left for taxes and an actual living.

Even if Lanto is net profitable, that doesn’t make his path a realistic escape plan for somebody watching him after work.

The firm gets paid when you buy another account. The affiliate gets a commission. You’re left hoping the next winner covers the damage and the firm actually approves your payout.

Sim prop firms are the worst thing for the average retail trader who’s simply trying to make a living from trading.

No audience. No influence. No affiliate commissions. Just trading.

You need your trading profits to pay the bills. The people selling you these accounts can get paid even when you fail.

Your blown account is still a successful sale for them.

This might be an unpopular opinion, and a lot of people may not like what I’m about to say, but it’s genuinely how I feel.

I have nothing but respect for all the legendary traders, the boomers who laid the foundation for what trading is today.

But sometimes I feel like they believe the world hasn’t changed, that it isn’t evolving, and that they’re the only ones who hold the absolute truth.

What they seem unwilling to accept is that many of us from the younger generation who are rising in this industry have a real edge. We’re making thousands upon thousands of dollars in the markets, and we’re developing strategies, platforms, and technologies that could potentially far surpass what they accomplished.

And I say that while giving them all the credit they deserve, because we wouldn’t be doing any of this today if it weren’t for everything they built and accomplished before us.

I’m not saying this to criticize them. Quite the opposite. It’s about giving them the respect and recognition they’ve earned, while also recognizing what we’ve earned.

We’ve worked incredibly hard to chase our dreams, overcome challenges, and accomplish something that only a very small percentage of the population will ever achieve.

Respecting the legends who came before us doesn’t mean we can’t become legends ourselves.

I have talked to 2 traders this week that lost huge amounts of money. I know every feeling that goes into it. You are not alone, any of you. Being a long term profitable trader is not a straight line. I made millions by 35, by 43-44 I was driving Uber 7 days a week to feed my wife & 5 kids. I took a hard look at who I was & how I lived. I took a deep dive into what worked for me trading & what I did to blow up. I was a very well known & experienced CME pit trader. I set about to develop a process of trading that fullfilled 3 requirements, it had to be consistent, repeatable & scalable. At 58 I am healthier, happier, stronger in spite of heart issues and prostate cancer. I have deep and meaningful relationships with people of all ages and all over the world.

This is a marathon not a sprint. There are no shortcuts, no easier softer way. Do the work. It is worth it.

[Market Mommy @dontbsalti]

Idk who needs to hear this….

But if trading bots actually worked prop firms wouldn’t allow them to

Hope this helps.

@devore_tod63377 @RIPS Eeyyy it’s my dream account not yours!!! Stay on your lane 😂😂😂

[Abraham Pérez @AbLegendnq]

Exactly. I understand that for this to be sustainable for the firm, there will naturally have to be a downside or trade off. In this case, I think the best trade off without affecting the trader’s ability to continue trading within their strategy would be to increase the profit target.

[Stoic Trader @StoicTA]

If you’re buying instant accounts from Vest, you should stop trading immediately.

You’re paying $1,000 for a $1,000 initial loss limit, then giving them 5% of your profits.

How does this make any sense?

So are perps just CFDs that are legal in the US?

Honestly, looking at social media, I’ve reached a point where I’m disgusted by what the trading industry is becoming.

I’m a 40-year-old man who has spent years dedicated to these markets, and it has gotten to the point where I almost feel embarrassed to even say I’m a trader, not because I’m ashamed of what I do, but because I don’t want people to automatically compare me to trading influencers on social media, assume we’re all the same, or think that what they do represents what I do.

I’ve even seriously considered deleting all my social media and going dark.

[Abraham Pérez @AbLegendnq]

Coincidence?
