Brand new rules at this junction this morning. This pair are preventing any traffic from turning left to the Docks, St James Shops etc. The current loop time to Aycliffe & back to here is about 20mins. VERY frustrating for Dovorians!

.@HighwaysSEAST@KentPoliceRoads@KentPoliceDover@KentHighways We have just witnessed first incident; grey pick-up with trailer went through the lights on a false green and was hit by the white TIR!! Surely you could at least cover the problem lights to prevent another/worse!?
.@KentPoliceRoads@KentHighways@KentPoliceDover Please note a u-turning "Torello" truck (red cab) has clattered the traffic lights at the Townwall Street / York Street A20 JCT and they are now facing the wrong traffic flow. Potentially dangerous! Lights at far-right below images
Some locals in Dover say they were awoken by traffic noises at 4:30am and trips usually taking five minutes are taking over an hour because of the gridlock.
#PODover / #POCalais - DFDS are currently experiencing delays on this route due to adverse weather. Please only travel to the Port if your travel is essential. If your travel is not essential, please email [email protected] and we will help you.
IMPORTANT: We are currently experiencing delays on all of our crossings resulting from recent adverse weather conditions. We are advising our customers not to travel to the port unless absolutely essential. We can offer effected customers a free change to an alternative crossing.
See thread; fantastic shortcut through our #Dover town - 4hrs of inch-forwards progress!! Can't blame them, it's quicker than the main routes. But a disaster for locals who just want to get on with normal life ...
In Dover.
M20 was closed.
We went via M2/A2.
In Dover the usual approach along/in sight of Dover castle is completely closed to sehr via Google into Dover.
Got stuck there as some of the many lorries were blocking junctions.
Than found Alternate route via the A256 through Dover
The #M20 eastbound between J8 (#Maidstone) and J9 (#Ashford) is CLOSED due to severe congestion on approach to the contraflow system in place for #OpBrock. More information to follow.
We are asking for some help and support. Anything you can give will be used wisely to give the cadets the best opportunities and experiences we can.
Please give us a share!
We really appreciate all your help and support you give the Squadron.

IMHO this particular mess is going to take a lot longer than usual to clear the queues (with P&O Ferries missing, the capacity is much reduced). Have already seen a trucker in Dunkirk say he has been waiting for more than 24hrs (with no food/water).
The main approach roads to the Port are currently very busy. We are working with operators to get people on their way as swiftly as possible, but are asking passengers to please allow extra time for their journey. Local traffic is advised to use alternative routes where possible.
BREAKING 🚨The Insolvency Service has reviewed P&O Ferries’ actions and placed it under criminal investigation for its actions.
Peter Hebblethwaite stood before MPs and admitted to breaking the law, and his actions must now be scrutinised.
Never let another jobs massacre happen in the UK again.
👇WATCH the message for UK Ministers that we projected on the cliffs of Dover.
Then write to @BorisJohnson @KwasiKwarteng & @GrantShapps and call on them to ban #FireAndRehire now:👉https://t.co/pFY8ycMZLV
With no P&O Ferries and the bad weather delays delcared by DFDS I guess this will take some time to clear.
You can keep an eye on the backlog in Townwall Street A20 to the Port of #Dover with this local traffic webcam https://t.co/75Ft3343WB
The A20 Townwall Street (and York Street leading to it) have been backed-up with @kent_police in attendance since early-on. IDK why TAP has failed to keep the trucks out of the town today? But locals may be best to avoid frontal areas from Castle St, Market Square, etc.

DUNKERQUE
