Runner is forced to run, which means first base is no longer his to occupy. First base belongs to the batter.
Fielder tagged runner on first then the base. If he did the opposite, then only the batter would have been out, you remove the force at that point.

@Seth_3773 There is no defined baseline with no tag imminent. Runner has right to run the route he feels he needs to run. The baserunner doesnt need to square off the route to get to the next base, and honestly i dont feel it’s a terrible base running route. Fielder needs head on a swivel
