This is London! And these are the people who couldn’t fit into Whitehall!
Millions of ordinary people have brought the capital to a standstill.
This is Britain and it is speaking 🔥
That is absolute class from the @Everton support at Goodison Park this afternoon; the whole stadium applauding Kevin De Bruyne as he leaves the field after his final appearance at their stadium. 👏
Phil Foden: “If I ever win anything again I’m going to make sure I enjoy it even more; it shows how quickly things can change. What we were doing in the past isn’t normal so it shows the level which was set and how challenging it is to do what we did.
“People have seasons like this and it’s about how you come back. You can’t always be at the top and this happens, it’s part of football. There’s going to be ups and down. I’m definitely going to enjoy it if I win more in future…” [via @PA]
Sergio Kun Aguero has 5 PL titles, is the league’s 5th all-time top scorer, has the most Player of the Month awards, best goals-per-minute ratio, most hat-tricks, most goals in a single PL game, most goals for a single club, most goals by an overseas player, most goals during a decade, scored 20 goals for 5 consecutive PL seasons and has THE greatest moment in the league’s history only to be omitted from this list.
Absolute joke, @Carra23.

Guess which team must sell to buy under the current FFP/PSR rules? #NUFC
Why don’t they have a 60% tax on people earning over £250 k instead of inheritance tax on farmers. Then Marcus Rashford who has 6 Rolls Royces and earns £15.6million a year and who walks around the pitch aimlessly and doesn’t even break into a sweat will have to pay more.
Wallace accepts that the Tribunal has been asked questions that are clearly relevant to the rules going forward. Even on City’s case it is not true that “no financial rules” are in place in the interim - both PSR (currently ex shareholder loan interest adjustments) and related party rules *are* in place.
Of course, there is a major issue in having faulty rules but that has been the case since at least February 2024 and, in certain respects, for far longer. A few more days to await the Tribunal’s determination on issues both parties put to it is going to make very little difference. The judgment is very unlikely to be appealable, so it will offer a level of certainty for all parties once in.
How can it make sense to pass new rules on Friday if on, say, Monday, the Tribunal could side, at least in part, with City’s legal arguments that could cut across the Friday proposals? In the absence of the Tribunal’s view there is risk that Friday’s vote may implement further unlawful rules.
For all the hysteria in some of the pieces, City’s position appears to be that all parties should be patient and await an imminent, learned and independent tribunal’s verdict.
The vote should be postponed pending the Tribunal’s further determination(s) - it is really not that complicated and nor should it even be a partisan issue.
