The dishes are in the sink because people ate.
The shoes are by the door because people came home.
The toys are scattered everywhere because people were happy.
Some of the mess is proof of a good life.
Stay grateful.
Now that I’m a mom, I understand why moms need mom friends. Not just “let’s get dressed and go out” friends.
I mean bring the baby friends. Let the kids play while we sit on the couch and talk friends. Let’s go to the park.
Let’s grab food. Come over even though my house isn’t perfect.
Friendships where motherhood doesn’t feel like an inconvenience. Community is everything 🫶🏾
i'm the person who says "for what?" when someone apologizes because some people say sorry just to shut you up. i want you to acknowledge exactly what you did
I’m such a "thank you so much" typa girl because i understand that nobody is obligated to do anything for me, so i'll always appreciate the people who choose to show up for me.!
A Queen Mother can’t bury her son, a mother can’t be present at bride price negotiations, a mother cannot be present at a daughter’s give away ceremony, a mother acts a certain way in the presence of in-laws, all are these archaic misogynistic norms 🚮
