Samantha Morton on the reactions to her performance in ‘THE ODYSSEY’:
“I’ve had ups and downs in my career — you work for a bit and then you’re not working for a bit. You are criticized for your physicality. It’s a tricky game. Even meeting [Christopher Nolan] was enough; everything else is very special, very personal. It validates the fact that I’m good at what I do and I care. I’m very grateful and I take it very seriously.”

Samantha Morton on her approach to Circe in #TheOdyssey:
"It feels that she’s every woman. She’s all of us. I just really connected with that. I thought that I would bring, for want of a better word, myself into it. I just wanted to own it. I wanted to possess it and own it and be it."

@vincentlao18 We’ve seen ROSE, and can tell you she 100% gives one of the top performances of the year, and is so worthy of oscar recognition. She’s also very good in FATHERLAND but it’s not an actors-piece.
Ryusuke Hamaguchi's ALL OF A SUDDEN opens in theaters on November 25. Truly a soul-stirring film that I can’t wait to watch again. Had the chance to review it for @ThePlaylistNews https://t.co/GGGMI4lTHN
@vhscut I can tell you right now, we’ve seen FJORD, it’s very unlikely Reinsve or Stan get nominated. It’s not an acting showcase (though they’re both very good). The star is the director, the amazing Cristian Mungiu. Having seen ROSE, Hüller is incredible and more than deserving.
In our opinion, having seen Bola Negra/Amarga Navidad/El Ser Querido, only one of these is a serious International oscar player (Bola). And even then, we say Bola figures into International race only.

A lot of final Cannes winner predictions are omitting any prizes for South Korea’s HOPE (distributed by Neon). Fascinating to see after the first wave of reactions following its premiere. I don’t expect it to go empty handed, but I feel equally bullish that its Oscar chances will not be dictated by tonight’s results. #Cannes #CannesFilmFestival #Cannes2026
