My favourite books of the year!! I finished book 100 of the year earlier today and thought why not share some of my favourites from 2023! In no particular order...
Want to do one of my tours but can’t cause they’re usually on Saturdays? Well you’re in luck! This Friday 11am-1pm join me to hear about some of the women who knew Edinburgh New Town 😊

February wrap up 📚
I was able to read 11 books in February which I’m pretty pleased with!
Not pictured here are Sourcery and Eric by Terry Pratchett which I listened to, and They Bloom at Night by Trang Thanh Tran which I read as an ebook!
Despite being a big fantasy reader I have never read any Terry Pratchett (I know, gasp!) So I decided to make 2025 the year I try and get some Pratchett in my life! My library has loads of the audiobooks, so I’m listening to them! Sourcery is first up, and I would recommend!
If you’re looking for a contemporary YA to sob your heart out to, I have just the book!
Pieces of Us by Stewart Foster is based on the author’s own experiences as a young man, and deals with some difficult topics including grief, death and eating disorders.
Thanks @SimonBooks
My recent audiobook!
I have had Scavengers by Darren Simpson on my shelves for a long time, and finally picked it up as an audiobook from the library!
This is a very unique book about Landfill who lives in a rubbish site. Something very different from the usual middle grade!
The final book on the list is The Principle of Moments by @esmiejp I was bowled over when I read this earlier in 2024. An epic space opera with time travel and so many twists and turns! Perfect!! @gollancz
If you’re looking for a historical fantasy novel with a lovely slow burn queer romance look no further than Strange Beasts by Susan J Morris!
Set in the early 1900s Paris, this novel has fantastical beasts and chases in the catacombs of Franc! Thank you @hodderscape for the copy
I’m watching Black Doves on Netflix, and my god these characters have so many important chats about killing people in cafes and pubs!! Like is no one worried about being overheard?? It’s all I’m thinking about!
This weather is playing absolute havoc with what should be the busiest time of year for indie retailers. The last storm cost us approx £3k in sales!
Please if you can share our website, share a review or pop on and buy a book/gift/tickets ❤️📚

I’m late to get to this series, but I’m loving the Truly Devious series by @maureenjohnson so much! I can’t put them down, and I’m flying through the series!
This YA crime series is a real page turner! Highly recommend to all!
