I’m so used to blind people saying they thought I was white, it doesn’t surprise me now. When you do image descriptions, don’t skip race. Don’t leave room for harmful assumptions. This is #intersectionality. I made a video on inclusive descriptions

A friend of mine @AccessNell opened up a teepublic shop for fun queer-related products. Its especially cool when you're into herpetology because she got designs cater to that field AND hella adorable animal art to boot! 🐢🐍🦎

The thing about multiple disabilities I don't think people understand is how they all affect one another. I've been anxious all day about an appointment tomorrow which causes my asthma to flare up and my spasticity to worsen. They're not separate from one another.
A note to non-disabled people: don't question clearly stated access needs. Ever. It's not up to you to decide what a disabled person can/cannot do. Disabilities are dynamic. 1/5
A mantra for disabled people:
I’m not a burden to the world.
Inaccessibility is a burden to me.
I’m not a burden to the world.
Inaccessibility is a burden to me.
Say it with me:
I’m NOT a burden to the world.
Inaccessibility is a burden to me.
we don't have enough vaccines for healthcare workers and frontline workers, but the NYPD who REFUSE to wear masks and spit in peoples faces... get to skip the line.
