Accountable Florida raises citizen voices and ensures lawmakers hear from their constituents about how laws or proposed legislation would directly affect them.
Florida's law already makes it nearly impossible to sue a rideshare company, even when they're directly at fault. The Fong Amendment currently in Congress takes that and doubles down, wiping out rider protections that have existed for over a century. Even if drivers commit crimes like assault or sexual assault, there would be no way to hold them accountable. Rideshare companies would answer to no one.
If this passes, it doesn't matter what state you live in. Uber got what they wanted in Florida. And now they’re lobbying Congress to take this same system national.

Citizens spoke up — and Congress listened.
The U.S. House voted 224–200 to strip pesticide companies of their accountability shield in the Farm Bill. Member after member heard you loud and clear: corporations should not receive special protections at the expense of American families.
We stand against these corporate interests. And so do the thousands of everyday Floridians who made their voices heard.
Thank you to every Member of Congress who stood with families over corporate lobbyists. And thank you to every citizen who spoke up, shared, and refused to stay silent.

This week @RepLuna stripped dangerous pesticide liability protections from the Farm Bill. Her amendment passed 280-142, defending every American's right to hold chemical companies accountable when their products cause harm. https://t.co/IAxVoxPeT6
Corporate accountability over corporate immunity. People over profit. 💪

The Senate didn't pull the trigger on HB 1551 this session. But bills like this come back. Stay engaged, stay watchful — because your 7th Amendment right to access the courts is always one session away from being chipped away. https://t.co/RvVOYX61KM

A bill that would have shielded gun manufacturers from lawsuits didn't make it across the finish line this session — and Florida families are safer for it. Here's what happened with HB 1551...
This is exactly the kind of legislation we fight against every session. When corporations cause harm, Floridians must have the right to hold them accountable in court. Shielding manufacturers from liability doesn't make guns safer — it just removes accountability.
@fionamcfarland For Florida families impacted by government negligence, the passage of HB 145 represents a meaningful policy change after more than a decade without updates to the law. https://t.co/NXdRNhhXAp
Major development in the final days of Florida’s legislative session: HB 145 has officially passed the Florida Legislature. Florida families harmed by government negligence have waited 10+ years for updated compensation limits. That wait is over. The Florida Legislature has acted for Florida families — now the bill heads to the Governor's desk. 🇺🇸 ⚖️
@fionamcfarland The passage of HB 145 represents a significant step toward accountability when government negligence causes serious harm. It ensures recovery limits better reflect the real-world costs families face.
Let this sink in: a lobbyist called a sitting judge a "runaway" for allowing a family's case to move forward. That's the playbook. That's why we fight every session to protect your 7th Amendment right to access the courts. Justice isn't guaranteed — it's defended. https://t.co/U4NO2Bkx5J

A baby suffers permanent brain damage during delivery. A CEO gets sued. And Florida lawmakers tried to change the law mid-session to shield him from accountability. This is exactly how special interests erode justice. ⚖️ https://t.co/XVFJd3MV87
A hospital lobbyist stood before Florida lawmakers and said — out loud — "This is a runaway judge in circuit court in Miami-Dade County, and we're just begging you to fix it." That's not justice. That's a corporation asking lawmakers to rig the rules in their favor mid-lawsuit. In the end, on the last day of the session, lawmakers rejected the immunity expansion.
🚨 THURSDAY: The gun manufacturer immunity bill hits the Florida House floor for a vote. $500K in gun money already changed hands. Now it's time for Florida families to make their voices louder. Call your representative TODAY. Vote NO on gun manufacturer immunity. #FlaPol #GunSafety #BacktheBlue
A gun company handed out $500K+ to 3 dozen Florida politicians right before the 2026 session — and now the Legislature is pushing a bill to give gun manufacturers immunity from lawsuits. Coincidence? Follow the money. #FlaPol#GunSafety https://t.co/P78rVi9Rjv
Law enforcement is being harmed by guns that misfire. HB 1551/SB 1748 would slam courtroom doors shut — handing immunity to gun manufacturers while leaving victims with nowhere to turn. #FlaPol#GunSafety#BacktheBlue
