Today, I want to celebrate @milsat_africa, founded by Taslim Saluadeen and Adedamola Baderinwa, the Nigerian company behind the technology powering our new National Digital Postcode.

From delivering a pilot in 2023 to building a national system, Milsat demonstrates the depth of Nigerian technical capability and our ability to create infrastructure that improves public services, supports businesses and opens up economic opportunities.

Their work extends beyond postcode. Milsat supported the National Population Commission’s mapping of more than 65 million properties in preparation for Nigeria’s first digital census, and has deployed enumeration area demarcation technology in Sierra Leone.

This is the ambition I want us to nurture: Nigerian companies building solutions for our needs, proving their capabilities at home and taking that expertise to the world.

With appreciation to @NipostNgn, Meeds Network Limited and the National Population Commission for their roles in this journey, today’s spotlight belongs to the Milsat team.

Launching Nigeria’s National Digital Alphanumeric Postcode System is the first step.

Its true impact will come as we weave it into how we live, do business, connect with one another and deliver services across every corner of our country.

Every postcode should mean something tangible: a customer reached, a delivery completed, a community better served, or emergency help arriving where it is needed.

In the days, weeks and months ahead, my office will work with @NipostNgn and key actors across government, business and the technology community to embed this new national asset in our everyday lives.

So to our developers and innovators, let’s build on it.

The API ( You can find documentation here - https://t.co/PFrEDDiCL3) provides a foundation for integrating the postcode into the products and services Nigerians use every day.

So go on and register your organisation: https://t.co/ESLWQuJRIT and start building.

To access the API:

1. Create an organisation account.
2. Submit your Know Your Business (KYB) documentation.
3. Request API access, specifying the access level you need.
4. Receive staging tokens to develop and test your integration.
5. Complete User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with NIPOST’s technical and compliance teams, where required.
6. Receive production tokens and go live.

For the auditor in the house, you would think how they managed to do this without detection for so long. Like, is this an audit scope issue or they just pretty deceived the auditors for so long by providing false 3rd party audit evidence?

@hedrees_ayinde I guess this is the same across the UK. New builds are often priced with a premium and immediately a buyer collects the key, the premium is automatically disappeared, discounted the MV of the property.

@hedrees_ayinde @Nnewi300 lol! I used to have same mindset as the OP. But now, I just follow the principle in ‘The Richest Man in Babylon’ book by saving/investing certain % of my income and spend the rest however I want without overthinking it.
