Incredible. So after Boris Johnson overruled security service advice not to send the son of a KGB agent to the House of Lords, officials felt they had no choice but to ask the Queen to intervene and block it instead.

@ElysaraVT@djWHEAT I've seen quite a few communities aggressively gifting. To find out that it's detrimental to those with low sub counts is rather sad
@caibythesea@GooseComics@djWHEAT So... It's worse because you stop a follower from subbing and contributing. In a similar way that using your prime sub to someone you would otherwise sub to means you're not contributing. A single account can only sub once, reducing the accounts that contribute is harmful now
Today in my country (italy) a group of youtubers with 600k subs, who liked to scream at other people driving "poor people cars", crashed with their lamborghini into a Smart while recording a challenge. There were 2 small kids and their mom inside, the 5 year old lost his life
Today I've made an error of opening my student loan balance.
Interest rate: 6.9% on a government loan, or accruing £284 to my balance in *interest alone* every month. Every single month.
The UK's student finance system is broken.
Yesterday I got arrested whilst filming a @JustStop_Oil supporter holding a banner on the pavement near the coronation route. I'm a filmmaker and had my @BECTU press accreditation visible around my neck.
Police deemed this to be "conspiracy to commit a public nuisance".
Under the new law, "serious disruption" is defined as a person/organisation being "hindered to more than a minor degree". Almost any protest imaginable would satisfy it. What we have actually done, therefore, is criminalised protest at the police's discretion.
BREAKING: With the number of Green gains in Mid Suffolk now at 6, the Greens have reached the threshold of 18 seats and have now got majority control on the council.
>This is the first time in history the Greens have ever had majority control on a council anywhere in the UK<
The Met Police have threatened the entire country over the #Coronation of King Charles.
The Tories have made us a police state.

@sfb208@suemcdonald342@angelaeagle This was true before the cost of living crisis, now the very people suffering the most, struggling with bills and using food banks can't afford to vote out the people not helping them through it
@KarlTearney @andyredfern So we're allowed to protest as long as we're not heard and not a "nuisance", I sure hope you never need to protest against anything now that it's lost all meaning.
@alex_moukala@Editwithmouse In the same way that I don't tend to follow artists, sometimes I just like a specific instance (tweet/video/post) without liking everything that person puts out. Its especially difficult with people that post primarily in a language I don't know. I like what I understand, but...
