It’s seems quite obvious that Sony worked with Rockstar to announce their no-disc future, relying on GTA 6 to be announce GTA 6, follow up to the biggest entertainment product in history, as a digital-only game🚀
Sony was probably too cowardly to push such a move alone.
But GTA or no GTAVI, we must not give up.
This move damages digital gamers as well
NO DISC 💿 NO BUY
Sony is recouping the majority of a $508 million U.S. tariff refund🚀
✅These taxes, which were recently declared illegal, were originally blamed for driving up the cost of the PlayStation 5.
✅According to CFO Lin Tao, the PlayStation division is receiving the lion's share of the funds, with approximately 70% already collected between April and June 2026.
✅Despite getting this money back, Sony has not announced any intention to reimburse buyers who paid the inflated retail prices.
✅As a result, the company is now facing a proposed U.S. class-action lawsuit demanding that a portion of the recovered funds be returned to consumers.
✅They also plan to end physical game discs, due to their own greedy and wanting ti start a monopoly where players have no ownership, less options, and more freedom for Sony to raise prices on a whim
This is the cesspool of a company that once was the untouchable darling of the industry
NO DISC 💿 NO BUY
Guys, the point isn't to make Sony Notice. Sony already has noticed and they're doubling down, spitting in your faces, and calling you out.
It's about disrupting their bottom line and causing so many blips, that the SHAREHOLDERS Notice, grow concern, and freaks out.
Some PlayStation players are planning a PSBlackout from August 23–30, but a lot of fans don’t think it’ll make much difference.
The idea is don’t log into PSN, don’t play online, and don’t buy anything from the PlayStation Store for a week.
Some gamers think not enough people will join for Sony to notice and they wont do anything
Gamers hounding @Sony on Social Media just achieved a major victory today - Sony finally had to respond to the backlash.🥇
There will be those that try make this out as "Game Over" - wrong, this is "Game Start" towards getting them to properly address their fans.
It just started. Nothing is over. Keep it up and see how they feel after they've had to waste time addressing this for months.

NO DISC 💿 NO BUY
Sony could have said nothing, and it would have had the same effect as this awful response.
They more or less said: We understand you're upset, but too bad, we're doing it anyway.
The best part is when they said that retailers will still get games to sell, via a code in a box. Lol, what a disaster.
Gang, I have my own announcement:
FULL STEAM AHEAD with NO DISC 💿 NO BUY!!!!!
NO DISC 💿 NO DEAL!
Not a damn dime to SONY!

“Industry trying to survive”
Nobody forced Sony to burn $400 M+ on Concord. No gamer is demanding that you dump a country’s GDPs into games.
If the industry *needs* to spit on customers and take away consumer rights in order to survive? Then it deserves to crash, and it should.
Australia is planning some of the world's toughest AI regulations
• Water usage will be limited
• AI data centers will be required to become net producers of energy
• AI companies can't train on Australian creators' work without their permission
• Proposals expected to be introduced as legislation in 2027
“Australian writers, musicians, artists and journalists must retain ownership and control of their work. Our laws will spell that out, plain as day ... anything less is theft"
What about it? You own nothing and should be happy?!
People are no longer replying, but they do know what they’re up against now.
It caused Brazilian and Mexican lawmakers to join Stop Killing Games and propose new laws.
It revealed to hundreds of millions more people what’s at stake here.
And, speaking from conversations we’re having with lawmakers in the EU and the US, it caused a backlash that will go well beyond some replies under a tweet.
Download the offline installer of any of your games on GOG, save it to a disc and it's yours forever.
You don't need a storefront's permission to play what you bought.
Movies still come on Blu-ray, music is still pressed on vinyl and books still fill store shelves. But as Sony moves to phase out physical PlayStation releases, many gamers are asking why video games should be the first major entertainment medium to go all digital. https://t.co/FagoUG3JVU
