Is this the right year to forget #AusOpen history and tradition?

There’s a player push for the men’s event to be best-of-three sets, just for 2021. 👇🏻 https://t.co/gZsaRE7vve

Updated copy on the positive COVID case on the second charter flight. Been a very dramatic day and night for the #AusOpen.

Players were warned if they try to get out of their rooms they risk being fined and placed in hard quarantine. @heraldsunsport

@tennis_shots The fans just aren't turning up for Sydney International. Fast4 got a great crowd but surely it won't replace ATP/WTA event.

[Marc McGowan @Aceland_Marc]

@tennis_shots Have heard a whisper about the reason but unconfirmed at this stage. It'll come out soon enough!

Love this cartoon. Sorry, Ducks, but I'm on the Hewitt bandwagon tonight. #HewBeauty #AusOpen

@Melbchief I had someone suggest I bill Davis Cup v Kazakhs as Croc Dundee v Borat, so that'll be a start! Thanks, Chip - & congrats on book

2/2 term journo focus & I'm covering Davis Cup in Darwin but I understand if you don't follow me across as it won't be a tennis-only account

1/2 Hi guys, I have a new job as NT News' sports editor & am switching my Twitter activity to my @MGMcGowan account. Tennis remains my long-

@sutho12 Criteria was flawed as is system where players randomly picked. Funding decisions hard but ppl in position need to make good ones.

[Marc McGowan @Aceland_Marc]

@sutho12 Having said that, no top-100 player should get funding, except Davis Cup payments each tie. Must be a cut-off at certain age, too.

[Marc McGowan @Aceland_Marc]

@sutho12 Tomic didn't go right way about it but many, from top to bottom, are disgruntled with TA. No system is perfect but TA has problems.

[Marc McGowan @Aceland_Marc]

@Yes_IamSancho Fair enough, too. Great to chat, mate. I'm hitting the sack.
