@scottcwheeler@dsilver88 I could not have imagined a better start to his career.
@scottcwheeler whatre your thoughts on his long term outlook/upside compared to cutter?
@charlieo_conn@charlieo_conn Bobby brinks development over the last year has been excellent. He appears so much quicker and stronger on his skates while maintaining his great vision and sense. Thoughts?
@charlieo_conn Is Phil Meyers a potential bust comp for Yakenchuk given size, skating and handedness with some IQ questions. I understand Yakemchuk has significantly more skill and offensive prowess than Meyers but want to understand your POV on his downside.
Misc thoughts on flyers players:
1. TK: this guy epitomizes what it means to be a flyer. Skill, speed, grit - he can do it all. He’s the best player on the team. Sign him to an extension and put a C on the sweater.
15. Hathaway: prototypical flyers power winger. Love his speed, intensity, feistiness. Can really get in on forecheck and he’s been great ok PK. He’s a great 4th liner to have
Triumvirate: jonesy is a beauty, Danny B is scheming and working on the master plan. Torts is a hardo and the team is responding. Love it compared to the complacent Fletcher regime.
14. Laughts: heart and soul leader. I feel like he’s been a little snake bitten this year. He plays hard and is great ok PK. He’s taking too many penalties at times but you gotta love the way he competes and battles
13. Poehling: He has also exceeded my expectations. Great skater, big body, solid 200 ft player. Can make some plays. He’s a great 4C who can play 3C if needed
11. Deslauriers: I’m sure he’s a great guy in the room and his presence has a purpose, but on the ice he handles the puck like a grenade and he’s typically behind the play
12. Walker: he has VASTLY exceeded anyone’s wildest expectations as a cap dump. Great skater always looking to get up on the rush. Good skill, extremely solid RHD
3: Tipp: Really fun player to watch. I love his speed, shot, and willingness to throw the body around. He’s dynamic offensively but has a little way to go to round out his 200 ft game. I like the recent extension
