In times of disaster, @OCS_ACFgov partners with communities and other offices to support relief efforts. This National Preparedness Month, I invite you to explore the Disaster Flexibilities Hub and learn more about available emergency support: https://t.co/t2AEUOrp3f
Thanks to the child welfare community in Tacoma, WA for sharing the ways you're coming together to serve children, youth, and families. It’s going to take all of us to transform the child welfare system into one that focuses on family preservation, with fairness and dignity.
Our final kinship rule addresses barriers to kin licensing making it easier for grandparents to care for their loved ones in foster care. #KinshipMonth

“Higher compensation and better benefits for the early childhood workforce ensures quality early education and allows programs to recruit and retain effective early educators.”
🙌 “Head Start workers are the unsung heroes of our communities,” April Verrett, SEIU International President. The Biden-Harris administration pledged to stand with child care workers—and they’re delivering! ➡️ https://t.co/nhRZRSwDR7
Daily emergency responses have become more prominent in our mission portfolio as the frequency, complexity, and severity of disasters have grown and impacted our program and service networks. #TogetherInDisaster2024
Our goal at ACF is to promote social and economic well-being by meeting individuals, households and communities where they are and providing the programs and services that enable them to thrive and ACF supports people experiencing crises. #TogetherInDisaster2024
ACF is committed to creating jobs and uplifting families out of poverty and onto a path to prosperity. Seeing firsthand how @GLCACInc invested ACF funds by expanding much needed childcare services is a testament to the power of federal and community partnerships.
Vital connections being made through @StraffordCAP in Dover, N.H. Humbled by stories of whole family support for the children and families served by ACF.
That’s why last fall, we finalized a rule that brings foster care licensing in line with that research to make it less burdensome for kin to be foster parents and get an equal amount of expenses covered for children in their care as others.
This Administration’s efforts toward a Kin-first system is grounded in decades of research showing that children thrive when placed with kin where they can maintain community, family and cultural ties that serve as protective factors.
We say to LGBTQI2S+ children, the parents who love and support them, and LGBTQI2S+ parents and young adults: thank you for being you, we are with you, and we will continue to provide services and supports for you to be safe, healthy, and have every opportunity to thrive. 🌈
ACF is proud to celebrate and support LGBTQI2S+ children, youth, parents, and families. We affirm this support by taking action, including through a new regulation to ensure safe foster care placements for LGBTQI2S+ young people.
Congratulations to our Innovation Challenge teams! And thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to improving the outcomes for the children, youth, families, individuals, and communities that ACF serves.
I was honored to be joined by ACF staff, leadership, and guests at Thursday's Innovation Day where we celebrated the remarkable achievements of our Innovation Challenge teams. Innovation is Goal 5 of ACF’s Strategic Plan.
They refined their concepts, gained new skills, and turned ideas into actionable plans. Innovation is as much a mindset as it is tools and methodologies. Seeing you all here is a testament to how critical innovation is our mission at ACF.
