KIU Western Campus Sends Off Team to 20th AUUS Games 2025

Today, December 17, 2025, KIU Western Campus bid farewell to its talented students as they gear up to represent the university at the 20th Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS) Games 2025. The team will join the Main Campus contingent and head to Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mukono campus together, where they will compete in various sports such as football, basketball, volleyball, chess, tennis, karate, and wood ball, among others, from December 18 to 23, 2025.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, Dr. Bot Yakubu Sunday, Assistant Deputy Vice Chancellor (ADVC), Finance and Administration, stressed the importance of staying focused and composed during the games.

"Maintain your concentration and avoid distractions. Do not let provocation get the better of you, as it may impact your performance," he advised.

Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC), Assoc. Prof. Eric Mabonga, urged the students to make the university proud. "As KIU ambassadors, show the world our capabilities. Learn from the experience and bring back new skills and knowledge to enhance our campus," he said.

Haulah Malkia, Deputy Dean of Students Affairs, expressed confidence in the team's abilities. "We are confident in you. Give it your best shot and bring home the gold. We are cheering you on!"

The ceremony was also attended by Dean of Students Affairs, Hadijah Nantale, and Sports Tutor, Sharon Achan. The KIU community wishes the team luck and success in the tournament.
