Public trust wasn’t broken by accident: it was a deliberate, health & antivaccine disinformation campaign led by extremist political elements, Fox News and their unqualified contrarian MD talking heads, WSJ Opinion, Great Barrington Declaration, podcasters, wellness influencers
We don’t need another inquiry into the causes of ED gridlock. @ABDanielleSmith @AdrianaLaGrange are good at starting reviews, like the Seamless patient experience review - but not good at finishing and implementing them. https://t.co/5eM0TjNS57
🚨 SHE WAS CHARGED $51,383 TO GIVE BIRTH IN AMERICA - WITH ZERO COMPLICATIONS
This woman just opened her hospital bill after a normal, no-complication delivery.
Here’s what the U.S. healthcare system hit her with:
• $17,760 for a room
• $20,395 for the delivery room
• $2,437 for “non-sterile supplies”
• $1,323 for “medical surgical supplies”
• $1,484 for lab work
• $615 for anesthesia
• $5,657 for… something even she couldn’t identify
And this is before insurance - a total of $51,383 just to have a baby in the United States.
No complications.
No emergency procedures.
Just a normal birth.
Meanwhile, other countries charge… nothing. Or a few hundred bucks. Or literally pay you to have a child.
How does ANYONE look at this and still defend the U.S. healthcare system?
Leaders from schools of health systems & public health across Canada have formed the Leadership Council for Public Health & Health Systems Education —advancing modern, competency-based doctoral training with IHSPR support.

I doubt this bonkers UCP resolution will actually become law, but it highlights the degree to which pseudoscience & conspiracy theories have been normalized... Stunning.
"Research shows autism is mostly caused by genes and usually begins before birth, while the baby’s brain is still developing. The brain differences linked to autism are present early on, not caused suddenly by vaccines."

When your government for ideological reasons wields the “notwithstanding clause” of the constitution, a tool suspending civil rights and any judicial recourse, designed for rare constitutional emergencies, against vulnerable children, you’re looking at authoritarianism.

I don't understand this either. Is there a block allocation for each province? Does what the gov orders also impact 'private' access by pharmacies?
I had thought that even if gov did not order enough there was a safety valve - that pharmacies could order direct.
Seriously, At what point will the average UCP voter worry about the integrity of this government @PeterGuthrie99 ? Alberta Auditor-General rushing health care probe after government denies term extension https://t.co/bR3tsITGg0
A classic trick. Push more government mandated work to the Auditor general so they have no time to work on the contracting out scandal the government fears will hurt them https://t.co/aSqXAH5emy

Bailey et al. explored how the EQ-HWB-9 performs in the general population
🔎 What they found
- Strong convergent validity
- Carers reported lower QoL than non-carers
- Known-group results aligned with mental, physical, & sleep health hypotheses
