About time for an introduction!
I'm interested in paleontology, earth sciences in general, and media such as JJBA, Minecraft, and others. I also post art as well, mostly paleoart, although if you just want that check out my Cara page: https://t.co/NfB4Bko0mc
My main takeaway from this idea is that we take real world geography for granted, not to disparage fantasy authors but I felt this as well when driving through California.
West Africa has 16 countries, hundreds of ethnic groups, and architectural traditions that predate every colonial contact on this continent. This thread documents the building techniques that came out of this region, what materials they used, what climate problems they solved, and how they can be refined rather than replaced.
The various techniques from North, East, Central and South Africa will be shared in the coming days.
I would like to add that dinos like carno and sucho are also undersized. I think even in this day there's people that still think sucho is just a middle term between bary and spino
I don't blame the show's writers for this. It IS absolutely fucking BAD-
But its important remember Surviving Earth is an AMERICAN, prime time tv show, broadcasting during an anti-climate administration, in a country where sponsors benefit from downplaying climate concerns
Travel back in time 114 years to the summer of 1912. This imposing figure is named Kopeli, the Chief of the Snake Clan Priests at the Hopi Snake Dance Ceremony in the Pueblo of Walpi, Arizona.
I have cleaned-up this stunning photo by Franklin Price Knott which was taken in 1912 but not published by the National Geographic until 1916. it was taken using an early colour glass-plate process and isn't colourised.
