Our first Demo Class was held at the Villa College, Moot Court today.

This session was conducted by Amish Abdulla, Lecturer at the Faculty of Shariah & Law of Villa College.

Participants were able to experience one of our Law Class involving intricacies of Constitutional Legal setup through practical mooting exercises where students represented the plaintiffs and the defendant sides.

Ever since I first moved to Malé back in 2015, I've been a big proponent of kadas. If I'm ever by myself, and I want to eat out, I'm 100% going to a kada.

Least they could do is consult a trasportation engineer and sort out the roads and especially the intersections & ensure the roads they build in the future are planned correctly

@nafa__ahmed Construction companies veema ok vaaney MPS ah. Most construction sites in Male' take over the parking spaces next to it and on the other side of the road to use as storage space for material without any permit. They get a rent free storage space and we get fines from MPS

@MohamedSharif @VelanaAirport Maybe what kind of fire they are primarily trained to deal with. Its probably better to have a team that is dedicated to fighting fires in an urban environment in Male since it's not about just putting the fire out (which the airport team do well cause they fight it with foam)

@MohamedSharif @VelanaAirport VIA is an intl airport and are required to maintain a certain standard to be allowed to operate (and they cant routinely get involved fighting fires elsewhere) The same is not true for Male. There is nothing forcing politicians to spend on a proper fire fighting setup in Male'

@MohamedSharif @VelanaAirport Pretty sure ARFF wouldn't be allowed to get involved in routine fire fighting in the city. And fires are meant to be responded to quickly. What we really need is the same level of infrastructure/equipment they have at VIA placed in proper locations in Male'.

This is what our FRS has been reduced to by political negligence for over 20 years. For me, our firefighters are exceptional heroes! Despite all that they have endured for so long, they would never surrender YOU to a fire! No better example of service above self! God bless!

Now, let's talk about the availability of water for firefighting. Fire vehicles carry a limited amount for initial response. No hydrants, so our FRS drafts its water supply from the lagoon surrounding Male. A time staking operation to relay water. Imagine doing that in Hulhumale!

Hulhumale! An urban "Smart City" without a "Modern Fire Station" to support the vertical highrise housing concept that we so proudly keep promoting. Neither phase 1 nor Phase 2 has a working city fire hydrant system to support firefighting operations. So much for being smart!

What FRS has been given and labeled as "Fire Stations" are by no means anything close to what a modern FRS would need to run a life-saving operation. One is positioned in one end of Male. For Hulhumale, we have a "Mini" fire station because @hdcmaldives does not have space for it

We built cities and developed an existing one without taking fire infrastructure into consideration. Neither Male nor Hulhumale has fire stations strategically positioned to keep response time below 5 minutes.
