Incidents at UK synagogues rose 31% this year, the highest ever for six months. However LLAA's allies span Christian groups, Hindu neighbours, Iranian peace activists, even locals who quietly strip antisemitic posters off our streets.

Antisemitic incidents in Britain rose 21% this year, near record levels. However LLAA's volunteer numbers keep growing too, faith and no faith, side by side. Hate is rising. So are we.
Peacefully, publicly and persistently.

At LLAA, our mission is simple: combat antisemitism, through education not shouting. We teach Jewish history and how old hatreds have resurfaced today, right here in the UK. Knowledge is how hate loses its grip. Peacefully, publicly and persistently. #Antisemitism#Leeds
1,926 antisemitic incidents in the UK in six months. Assaults. Arson. Stabbings. That's not a statistic — that's someone's dad, someone's daughter, someone's walk to shul. This is Britain in 2026. Peacefully, publicly and persistently, we say: enough.

Ask a Jewish parent in Leeds what's changed since October 7th. Security briefings at nursery drop-off. Kids told to tuck the Magen David inside the shirt. That's the everyday cost of hate most of Britain never sees.

Critics have noted that conversation about Jews being excluded from publishing hasn’t had much data. As a mathematician’s kid I was determined to fix that. Today my numbers were published by @JTAnews. What I found was grim.
Between 2023 and 2024, there was a 76% decline in fiction deal announcements to large presses that mentioned Jews, Judaism or Israel.
The early 2026 numbers are worse: Looking at what has been announced so far this year and annualizing the comparison, fiction deals mentioning Jewish content are down 82% at large presses compared with 2023.
Full story and my case for why Jewish publishing is a vital cause for our peoplehood here:

I thought Christian antisemitism was in the past.
I thought they had learned their lesson after the Holocaust in which too many of them had turned the other cheek.
But then I read this motion.
And then I read Facebook pages of Christians discussing this motion.
There’s really a whole branch of antisemitism I didn’t know about. One in which they don’t just blame us and hate us for killing Jesus but they have concurrently written us out of the story so that we didn’t exist in Israel and the Palestinian Christians are actually the only indigenous people.
Cambridge University and Homerton College Fail to Discipline Students who Made Actual Death Threats to a Classmate who visited Israel.
It is clear that Homerton is no longer an institution that truly shares pluralistic tolerant views that are the mark of a British university. Future students, graduates, donors and government should take note this is a place where death threats against classmates are tolerated, ignored and diminished.
Homerton's Principal Lord Simon Woolley - founder of Operation Black Vote - has based his entire career on campaigns to end "a climate of fear of The Other" and "stamp down on gender and racial-based violence" and exhortations to "stand up and be counted." Where is Lord Woolley now? Why isnt he doing his duty? After all his righteous campaigns, is his concern so selective that he ignores real examples of students in his supposed care facing threats of violence?
If one cares about the safety of students, do write to [email protected] and ask Lord Wolley and Vice-Principal Dr Jose O'Donaghue about their unsatisfactory conduct and to the Education Secretary @bphillipsonMP Home Secretary @ShabanaMahmood@WilliamJHague@toadmeister@LordWalney@homertoncollege@Cambridge_Uni What does the Education Secretary and Chancellor of the University make of this?
Amongst all the real violence and crises, this may seem a minor matter. Believe me, it is not.
A case like this is important because if universities tolerate death threats on behalf of an ideology that their weak or prejudiced leaders have for some reason selected as 'virtuous,' they are destroying the spirit of our universities from within, they will be responsible for when such violence actually happens and for the extension of such violence on behalf of other supposedly 'righteous' causes that are not connected to foreign affairs. Thus violence is sanctioned in a way that is wholly against the openness and tolerance of our liberal democracies and our academic world.
We cant fix the Middle East but we need to fight for the values of our own society and education.
There is a claim that keeps circulating, presented as sophisticated analysis: antisemitic violence is caused by Israel’s actions. If Israel behaved differently, Jewish communities around the world would somehow be safer. This argument is not analysis. It is a moral inversion. And it collapses the moment you apply it consistently.
When China imprisons Uyghurs, does anyone warn Muslim communities in Paris to expect attacks? When Russia invaded Ukraine, did anyone tell Russian restaurants to brace for violence? No. Never. The causal chain between a government’s actions and violence against a diaspora is only ever constructed for Jews. Every other minority is extended the basic moral courtesy of being treated as individuals rather than proxies.
Now look at what the data actually shows. The SPCJ, which tracks antisemitic incidents in France in coordination with the Interior Ministry, has documented a consistent and damning pattern: it is antisemitic violence that inspires more antisemitic violence, not Israeli policy. After Mohamed Merah murdered Jewish children at point-blank range at the Ozar Hatorah school in Toulouse in 2012, antisemitic acts surged by 200%. There was no Gaza operation. No Israeli military action. The massacre of Jews in France produced more attacks on Jews in France.
The same logic held after the Hypercacher attack in January 2015: antisemitic acts increased by nearly 300%. Massacres of Jews do not shock antisemites into restraint. They embolden them. They signal impunity. They normalize hatred. And everyone in a position of responsibility knows it.
Which brings us to October 7. From the day of the Hamas attack, antisemitic acts in France increased by over 1,000%. A daily average of approximately 25 antisemitic acts was recorded in the 30 days that followed, reaching nearly 40 on some days. In the three months after the attack, the number of antisemitic acts equaled those recorded over the previous three years combined.
And here is another detail that makes the “Israel causes antisemitism” argument impossible to sustain: the spike began on October 7 itself, the very day of the attack. Israel had not yet responded. Not a single soldier had entered Gaza. Interior Minister Darmanin sent an urgent message to prefects that same day asking them to immediately reinforce protection of Jewish community sites. Synagogues. Schools. Community centers. By October 10, 10,000 police officers had been deployed to protect 500 Jewish sites across the country.
Before any Israeli response existed, the French government already knew that Jewish communities needed protecting. Not because of what Israel was about to do. Because of what had just been done to Jews.
Antisemitic violence has one cause. Antisemitism.
This is correct. The test is simple. Duriing the period between October 7 and the beginning of Israel's military campaign did we see sympathy that was subsequently lost by the ferocity of that campaign? We did not. what we saw - especially on campuses was the celebration or rationalisation of the mass murder, sexualised sadism and torture and hostage taking as legitimate resistance against colonial oppressors irrespective if they were children, Nova festival goers, elderly holocaust survivors, people who had spent lives working for peace. The slaughter excited a thirst for more not less Jew- killing and not the end of occupation but the end of Israel. Then came the world wide avalanche of Jew hatred and Hamas cosplaying by drum- beating white people guilty about their own colonial history and displacing it on to Jews that gets ever more toxically racist; a virulent hatred so intense it of course strenthens not weakens the case for Zionism,
"People danced with glee outside the Israeli Embassy in London before Israel had taken serious military action (after October7th). That’s because it isn’t Israel’s actions that infuriate them – it’s its existence."
We have identified the two British-Pakistani women who recently targeted an Israeli Jewish couple in Vietnam with vicious, Nazi-style antisemitism. The women were recorded calling the couple “rats,” chanting “Boom boom Tel Aviv,” and invoking the trope about Jews being kicked out from “110 countries.”
One of the women, Uzma Bashir, is a well-known "leading" voice in pro-Palestinian groups in Leeds and has been previously reported to @WestYorksPolice & @WYP_LeedsCity. Her daughter has been identified as Yusra Ahmed, a Palestine Action activist who is currently scheduled to appear in court as part of the “Barclays 7” trial.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has just been nominated to the UN Committee for Programme and Coordination to shape policy on women's rights, human rights, disarmament and terrorism prevention.
The British government, of course, did not object to Iran’s appointment — even though the Iranian regime has been massacring thousands and thousands of protestors this year.
At least it shows satire is not dead.
NEXT UP> Satan nominated to investigate sin.
A casual friend, who meant no ill will, asked if I am nervous about my younger son being in Israel next year. I looked her in the face and said "after a year of my Jewish son being called a Nazi on a college campus just for being Jewish, I know there is physical risk in Israel but at least he will be safe from that." She took a moment, then sat down and said "I have never seen it this bad in my life. I never thought I would see the day." We need to be more honest with our non Jewish friends. The news is just noise but maybe the human stories will actually break through.
