@ACOElgin@ACOLondonOnt@arconserve Lucy Maud Montgomery's Norval Home has four staircases A grand one in the front hallway, Servant stairs from the kitchen and a hidden staircase to the attic/garrett.
Steep stairs to the rubble stone basement.@LMMHeritage
@ACOElgin@ACOLondonOnt@arconserve All of the above!
Not so much the bricks and mortar but the people and history attached to the building. A good example would be Lucy Maud Montgomery's Norval home
@LMMHeritage
Everyone has an opinion about the fate of the McGibbon. Where were they when Halton Hills Council and @RickBonnette1 gave them a chance to share their views at the Christ the King @CtKHH Public meeting?
Royalty Update! A recent visit to the heritage designated Speyside Royal Oak found the grand old lady alive and well at age 82.
It was worth the drive @RickBonnette1
@nationaltrustca@ONheritage Pretty sad and embarrassing to our Town that the Barber Paper Mill remains on The @nationaltrustca's Endangered Places List FOUR Years after LOCAL CITIZENS banded together to nominate it

#10endangered - All future heritage designations, Province of #Ontario
Ontario’s new More Homes, More Choice Act guts municipal ability to protect local heritage and gives final say over designation to appointed tribunals. https://t.co/3jTMpirwPA
Great to see a Downtown Georgetown, HERITAGE LANDMARK being kept alive by adaptive reuse. A good next step would be protecting it with a Heritage Designation. @RickBonnette1
BIG NEWS
"The Cellar will be open June 25th (hours 11am-10pm Tue-Sat) This will be a soft opening, grand opening in September. I’m excited for everyone to see the decor changes. We did make changes but kept some [menu] favourites. I look forward to serving you all" -Allison Craig
Fun fact! When the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario @arconserve was founded in 1933, Lucy Maud Montgomery was still living in the Norval Manse! Another reason why ACO-HH is a proud supporter of the LMM Museum and Literary Centre! @LMMHeritage
@RickBonnette1@DLounz@_HaltonHills Glad to see the Heritage Committee, chaired by Councillor Brown, is being proactive about seeking a solution to deter future thefts.
Yes! We have Royalty to brag about right here in @_HaltonHills!
Meet Archie! This year's first acorn to sprout from the Heritage Designated Speyside Royal Oak.
7 of his siblings followed close behind and there are over 20 more acorns waiting to sprout. @RickBonnette1
@DLounz@_HaltonHills@RickBonnette1 The tree's plaque was stolen a while ago when thieves targeted brass plaques all over Halton Hills. The Heritage Committee is exploring options for replacing the stolen plaques with new ones made out of less "inviting" materials.
Landmark? Yes or No?
Unprotected by Designation, this Art Deco gem was designed by prominent architect, John Edmund Walker, and built by the Federal Gov't in 1935 to serve as Georgetown's Post Office, Customs House and "a civic landmark". This one is worth saving @RickBonnette1
Not all heritage designated buildings have to be built in the 19th Century. This early 1950's Mid-Century Modern house ticks all the boxes for designation. Built by a prominent family, designed by a local resident, knock out butterfly roof and more....@JanieFF
