I actually did a rough calculation -assuming an investment of $6,000 per year when I first started working full time (1984) and continuing until I retired (now) it would be worth anywhere from $5.5million (at a an average of 11.5% - which the S &P did during that period) or more conservatively $2.13 million at 8%. SS has been the biggest single theft by the government.

Newflash - regardless of what state you reside in your federal income tax is THE SAME. California receives the MOST money from the federal government in Medicaid payments alone - and Medicaid represents the largest transfer of funds from the treasury to states. Actually, you are embarassing yourself. ALL you have to do is check the box - that's it. Here is what happens if you don't have any proof;
Voter Registration Identification Requirements
You must provide:
• A California Driver's License or state ID number, or
• The last four digits of your Social Security Number (SSN) (if you do not have a CA ID).
If you don't have either, you can still register. You'll be assigned a unique identifier to validate your registration.
All numbers are securely verified:
• CA ID numbers are matched with DMV records.
• SSNs are matched with Social Security Administration records.
• Unique identifiers are verified by election officials.

So, HOW do "election officials" verify citizenship, hmmm???
