The Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) concluded its 119th Council of Ministers Session in Brussels, commemorating its 50th anniversary under the theme “A Transformed and Renewed OACPS in a Changing World” with a unified call for reform, renewal, and strategic action. The three-day session was chaired by H.E. Senator Pholile Shakantu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Eswatini and Chair of the OACPS Council of Ministers. "Help yourselves by helping us supply you with the food and goods you cannot produce. Sell to us the services and goods we cannot make. This is what the future of trade looks like".

There's no sustainability without profitability. That's as true for European farmers as it is for farmers in Africa, the Caribbean, the Pacific, and especially in Least Developed Countries.
#EUAgriVision - happening now. https://t.co/YqMePKskxN is here to advocate that the CAP affects farmers in developing countries as well as in Europe.
The Spanish minister said, "there's no sustainability without profitability". 👏👏 And dialogue is vital to finding solutions.
@iso_sugar "A modelling study ... for the [UK] sugar tax claimed that it would lead to 180,000 fewer cases of obesity and generate £276 million in tax revenue. The revenue estimate was roughly correct. The obesity estimate was out by 180,000".

There are indications that #EU and #UK#sugar prices have risen a little in the first few months of 2025. But there are also strong "market headwinds". Can we determine what's happening from the official data?

A trade deal with Trump isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. They’ve torn up trade deals with Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Israel, Jordan, South Korea, Mexico, Morocco, Nicaragua, Oman, Panama, Peru, Singapore
Honoured to deliver to a full house the annual Expert Lecture on Trade to the Intl Trade Law faculty at @MaastrichtEUlaw. Trying to make sense of Trump’s trade policies - which are in the end not about trade but about national security and achieving cultural revolution.
