ACRC researcher, Adrianne Chang, received 1st place at IJMC-FEF Student Competition. She presented “Grain Refinement in Pure Aluminum: Role of Oxide Content & Ultrasonic Treatment,” which explores how ultrasonic treatment can be used to enhance grain refinement in pure aluminum.

After 40 years of leading ACRC, @ApelianDiran will pass the baton to @alanluoosu1 & Carl Soderhjelm to lead the consortium, starting Jan 2027. The Board will work with the leadership team to ensure a smooth transition.

The metal processing team at @UCIrvine now has comprehensive powder processing capabilities. With the installation of a Warp @OfficialSPEE3D Cold Spray Additive Mfg system & 3D Lab, we can create custom powders, process via solid-state (cold spray) or melt-based AM processes.
