My favorite piece of music journalism is when MTV tried to make Joel Madden’s relationship with an underage girl cutesy. It’s ok because he hangs out with her mom when she isn’t around and covers her butt crack when she bends over in low cut jeans.
As a band who has been recently cringe posting on reels, we stay away from the “replies to every comment” thing. I often do reply to a lot of comments, and if I feel compelled to do that I want it to be genuine.
unrelated but i’m so fed up of artists using “we’re small enough to interact with every fan!!!” as a reason to listen to them. it’s so beggy and it just breeds parasocialism, which god knows we don’t need more of in music
