In 1865, it was the Republican Party that led the efforts to abolish slavery in the United States, while many Democrats at the time opposed freeing the slaves. However, today, Democrats try to portray themselves as the party defending civil rights, conveniently forgetting their dark history of supporting slavery and segregation for decades!
In 1994, the Republican-led Congress passed the Violent Crime Control Act, while Democrats, led by Joe Biden, pushed policies that fueled mass incarceration, especially targeting minorities. Years later, Democrats started backpedaling, pretending to oppose these policies—even though they were the ones who pushed them in the first place!
In 1987, Senate Democrats, led by Joe Biden and Ted Kennedy, tried to block the appointment of conservative judge Robert Bork to the Supreme Court, even though he was one of the top legal minds of his time. This event, known as “Borking,” became a textbook example of how Democrats use politics to smear conservative nominees, setting the stage for the extreme politicization of Supreme Court appointments!
In the 1960s, it was the Republicans who supported the Civil Rights Act of 1964 with the majority of their votes in Congress, while a significant number of Democrats, especially in the South, opposed it. However, today, Democrats try to manipulate history and claim that they were the only party that defended civil rights!
