Undeclared/mismanaged conflicts of interest increase the likelihood of corruption happening. Would a reasonable person think that your private interests could compromise the proper performance of your duties as a public servant? If the answer is ‘Yes/Maybe’ - declare it!
In 2024-25FY @ACTIntegrity received 150 complaints of suspected corrupt conduct. The most common allegation involved conduct of a public official in a way that is not honest or impartial, which made up 41% of all corruption reports received.

To strengthen integrity across government, leaders need to promote a speak-up culture where staff feel safe and supported when they raise concerns, even when they may be possibly unwelcome. Concerns should be addressed fairly and transparently.
