Today, we also marched with purpose and power at the National Assembly demanding passage of the Special SeatsBill into law✊
For so long, women have been on the sidelines while decisions that affect them and the nation are made without their full representation.
Today served as a bold reminder that equality is not a request, it’s a right.
Lawmakers must act now!

Through community sensitization forums, families are gaining knowledge about the harmful effects of #FGM and the rights of girls. These dialogues empower communities to protect girls, challenge harmful traditions, and promote change- https://t.co/RCAp36U4UF

At the heart of #ClimateAction is people’s power.
Across #Kenya , communities on the frontlines are restoring land, defending their rights, and demanding bold #ClimateJustice. Because protecting our planet means building a poverty-free, just future.
#Agroecology #FundOurFuture
No culture should cause harm, and no tradition should violate fundamental human rights. #FGM is not heritage, it is a harmful practice that denies girls their health, dignity, and future.

3.3 million Kenyans are facing hunger, a stark reminder that climate change is no longer a distant threat, but a lived reality. Women and children are bearing the greatest burden of this crisis.
While the government’s release of KSh 4B is a step, its more of a reactive measure that does not address the systemic drivers of the crisis.
It is evident that drought has become cyclic and calls for urgent, coordinated action now , alongside
long-term climate adaptation strategies to protect vulnerable communities and secure their future.

Tracing the Evolution of Kenya’s Borrowing Strategy 🇰🇪
Chapter Two of the People’s Audit is a must-read because it explains this turning point clearly.

Quick summary 👇👇
Kenya did not just increase its debt.
It changed the type of debt it was taking on.
For many years, Kenya borrowed mainly on concessional terms, loans that were cheaper and had longer repayment periods from institutions such as the World Bank and the African Development Bank.
These loans typically had lower interest rates and longer maturities, making them more manageable over time.
From 2014, however, Kenya shifted toward commercial borrowing, including Eurobonds and syndicated loans. These loans carried higher interest rates, had shorter repayment periods, and were largely denominated in foreign currency. This shift increased exposure to exchange rate movements and refinancing risks. When borrowing becomes more expensive and repayment timelines shorten, the impact is reflected in the national budget particularly in rising debt servicing costs and reduced fiscal space. #OkoaUchumi
Progress lasts when we invest in it. When momentum slows, hard-won gains risk reversal.
Every commitment, every community dialogue, and every sustained investment in prevention brings us closer to ending #FGM and securing a safer, healthier future for every girl.

We looked honestly at what we’ve built, what we’ve learned, and what must outlive this programme.
