...sound design was pretty special huh? Hearing the ambient sounds of the ship came through spookily clear, and that strange warping and blending of sounds between ambient and soundtrack outright was unique. The end felt like just the beginning! Shame it was cancelled :(

Of course I've read them countless times before, so I think they're just for comfort while the nights are still dark. But they will definitely add to the goal of *fifty* books that I have set myself this year.

That's just a pretext though. I am still reading Jane Eyre, and someone's secret has now been revealed. The prose in ch. 27 is superb, and Jane must make a decision. But what will it be? After a romance-heavy middle, the plot is driving forward again.

Mid-way through, it's still got my interest. I think I will try more Brontë stuff after. Perhaps Anne's work; the least regarded Brontë sister. (I bought the complete works of the family.) Then The Red Badge of Courage--I know I've promised before! But give Jane Eyre a try guys.
