Using Pro Football Reference full-season SOS (opponents’ combined win %):
Patriots: -4.49 (played teams that were on average 4.49 points worse than the average NFL team). Teams at -4 or worse are 3-1 SU in the Super Bowl.
Seahawks: +1.61 (Only 11 of 120 Super Bowl teams faced a tougher SOS and they are 8-3 SU.)
That 6.1 SOS gap is the 2nd largest in Super Bowl history, behind only the 1971 Colts (easier) vs Cowboys (harder).
The Colts won it all.

Dating back to 2002, teams off an OT win in the playoffs are 6–13 SU in the next round. Off OT and at a rest disadvantage? 1–8 SU. (via @evanHAbrams)
Brutal spot for the Rams.
Failed is quite the reach pal. Still waiting on a text/call from him after I got shipped off like a piece of garbage. Can’t wait to see you twice a year, Coach.
