This youth month, back a young person's business.
This youth month, celebrate young people who have created their tables and invited others.
This youth month, put pressure on policymakers to ensure there are practical measures to address the systemic exclusion of young people from fully participating in the economy.
This youth month, young people, recognise the value your years bring and seize the opportunity to be an active change driver.

Celebrating the doers. This talk about it Thursday, we are highlighting a basket ball academy founded by activator, Patrick Mcobothi in Chesterville that is changing lives.
Mcobothi witnessed firsthand how many young people were falling through the cracks due to a lack of positive recreational spaces, guidance, and support systems. Rather than accepting these challenges as normal, he chose to respond with action.

Nelson Mandela, a legacy worth modelling after. This July, as the global community observes Nelson Mandela International Day on 18 July, we challenge you to join us in embodying Tata's giving spirit throughout July.
Our organisation's identity and long-term purpose extend beyond a single calendar month or specific election outcomes. As June draws to a close, we want to take the time to reinforce our organisation's strategic commitment to strengthening the community and ensuring long-term resource mobilisation.
We will keep the structures built during this campaign deployed at the grassroots level to ensure continuous, sustainable accountability across all seasons.

Dear activators and our dear stakeholders, it is with deep grief that we announce the passing of our Lerato Mokopanelo, an activator who became a part of the continued legacy of change drivers through her capacity as an activist, mother and later staff member. Not only was Lerato part of the network, but she also continued to influence the youth agenda at various organisations till the very end, passionate about advancing causes that empower marginalised communities and centre young people as suitable change drivers. Lerato loved the arts; she had a warm and welcoming smile. She was a mother, friend and loved people and loved this network. This is a collective loss, and we wish to take this time to send our condolences to her colleagues, family, friends and the many communities she leaves behind. The family has advised that it would value your donations towards her burial arrangements using the details on the poster. May her beautiful soul rest in peace.

Caution🔕🚸young people are at work.
We end the week with a good report from KwaZulu-Natal; young people are actively shaping their futures, and our network is a part of that.
This week, we joined our fellow GOYN eThekwini partners, youth leaders, and community stakeholders for a meaningful engagement focused on amplifying youth voices, strengthening partnerships, and advancing collective action for young people in eThekwini.
Together with Afrika Tikkun, Harambee, Accenture South Africa, and Global Development Incubator (Africa), we continue to build an ecosystem where young people are active participants in shaping their futures.

The 1976 legacy, 50 years long, is felt at the community level. Here, both the evidence of the wins and losses for the cause the youth of 1976 stood for are portrayed.
This June 16, we join our country and global community in saluting the class of 1976.
In the same light, we recognise that much more needs to change at a policy and structural level. #MyCommunityMyVoiceMyVote
