Alice was referred to Night Light during lockdown as she was experiencing anxiety & regular panic attacks. Alice received weekly calls from the Night Light team & she says the calls helped her to plan methods of coping & also found talking to someone really beneficial.
The Night Light team offered Alice signposting advice for support in accessing benefits. When the cafes reopened, Alice said that knowing that this service is available out-of-hours has helped her to feel less anxious in the evenings, she hasn’t felt the need to attend often.
'Working with Energize makes me happy. I like talking to the team and playing games. My mum agrees that it's helping me a lot.'
Energize. Changing young people's lives in Lincoln one day at a time 💪
Our Night Light Cafe Team opened four of their cafe's, welcoming some of our first guests. Here are the Bailgate Methodist team on their first night of opening!
Thank you for your continued support and for helping to spread our good news stories! #LincolnGoodCitizens
Our Restore team kicked off their Life Ready Course this month and have met for their first session over Zoom, giving them a feel of the programme ahead which involves elements of coaching, classroom teaching and even cooking!
Now that Lucy knows she'll receive calls twice a week from the Night Light team, she's felt so supported that she hasn't felt the need to call the Crisis Team at all. She speaks very highly of the volunteers and says she feels safe to share without fear of judgement
Here's Lucy's story from our Night Light Project:
Lucy has told Night Light that prior to being referred to our virtual service, she was calling the Crisis Team regularly - some weeks daily - as she felt unable to cope alone with her anxiety levels.
A massive THANK YOU to Morrisons for their generosity!
We recently supported someone who was between houses she had no cooking facilities, or even plates and cutlery when Morrisons heard about this they gave her plates, cups, bowls and cutlery for her and her children!

Last week when it was hot, the team dropped round a card and ice creams for them at their grandparents house. We’ve also been able to offer the family extra support through our Night Light and @Lincolnfoodban1 projects #LincolnGoodCitizens
@EnergizeLincoln have supported a family in crisis through their mentoring programme. Alex's parents broke up 2 weeks ago. He now lives with his mum at their grandparents house. It’s been a stressful 2 weeks but Alex loves his mentoring sessions.
