Our facility is home to five primary clarifiers, each holding 855,000+ gallons of wastewater! 💧

Here, water slows and solids (💩) settle below where a rake arm collects them. This process removes biosolids so water can be treated and safely discharged into the ocean. 🌊

ACUA is partnering with @polygonesystems on a pilot program using a removal system to capture microplastics from treated wastewater before it is released to the ocean, helping protect our waterways. 🌊

Did you know the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Atlantic City cleans 28 million gallons of wastewater every day?

Serving 14 municipalities, the process takes 12-16 hours before the water is clean enough to be discharged into the ocean.

🌦️ The rain cleared just in time for our Open House Tour today at the Wastewater Treatment Plant!

Open House Tours are held every Wednesday in July and August at 12 noon. No reservations required—just arrive a few minutes early.

See how much trash Atlantic County produces in just ONE day! These photos show 1.9 million lbs. of waste from area homes and businesses filling the ACUA transfer station. 🚮

Each night, our landfill team clears out the transfer station and buries all this waste in the landfill.

Safely dispose of your household hazardous waste on Saturday, June 22, between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., at our drop-off event. The drop-off is open to Atlantic County residents only and there is no charge.
