🤷♂️ “I Don’t Care”— Ricky Gervais on People Being Easily Offended
In a recent chat with Romesh Ranganathan on BBC Radio 2, Ricky Gervais delivered his signature no-nonsense take on offense culture, cancel culture, and why he’s done entertaining it.
Gervais made it crystal clear: he doesn’t tell people not to be offended, he simply doesn’t care if they are. Here’s what he had to say:
“I don’t tell people not to be offended, I tell them I don’t care if they are. Be offended if you want. It makes it funnier for me.”
“You can’t help what you’re offended by, but don’t expect me to care, is what I say.”
“It’s a myth that I go out to offend. I never go out to offend. I just know that it’s probably gonna happen because everyone’s different.”
“There’s nothing you can say, particularly anything that’s mildly interesting, or contentious, or your viewpoint that someone, somewhere won’t find offensive.”
“And times have changed. Twenty years ago, if someone said ‘I was offended by that,’ I probably would go, ‘Why?’ Now I go, ‘Yeah, I know you are. Everyone is.’”
“I’ve dealt with it too much, actually. I think the last couple of tours, I have dealt with cancel culture and free speech, because I felt I had to. Now I don’t have to anymore.”
“Now I’m ignoring it all. I shouldn’t even bring it into the room.”
“Those people there who have paid hundreds of pounds, they’re not offended. I can play to a million people, not one complaint. As soon as it goes on Netflix, 50 million people… of course there’s going to be someone who doesn’t like it! It’s too late. I’ve been paid.”
Spot on, Ricky.
In a world where people seem offended by everything, Gervais reminds us there’s no point bending over backwards trying to please everyone. Focus on the audience that shows up, laughs, and actually wants to hear what you have to say. The rest? They can be offended, he simply doesn’t care.
And honestly? Neither should we.
@talkSPORT Shocking, was the game for Mainoo to replace Rice needed a ball playing midfielder, and after going 1 up Rashford and Saka, even Watkins for some pace should have come on
I can’t let this go unchallenged.
That young man was, in my opinion and based on the video below, the clear victim of an assault.
The video shows, for reasons that are entirely beyond my comprehension, the officer steaming directly into the victim.
The officer made no effort to prevent the attack or apprehend the men who had just administered the violence.
What I see in the video is the officer using speed and aggression at the moment of peak danger and confusion against the victim.
The victim then controls himself the moment he realises it is now a police officer attacking him and not one of the multiple men who were attacking him a fraction of a second earlier.
In my opinion Birmingham Police should drop the charges against this young man and ask the officer why she went for the victim on the ground and not the attackers!
@SportsUncensrd@piersmorgan@Sjopinion10@JohnTerry26 Spence shouldn’t even be there, wouldn’t even get in a 45 man squad let alone 26, he don’t seem present or in the moment looks like he’s got he’s feet up play PlayStation, similar to Madueke, speedsters with no football IQ

🇬🇧🗣️Andrew Tate claims he'll stop immigrants arriving on boats as soon as he takes office as UK Prime Minister:
“We do not owe you a thing. I don't care if it's a hurricane, the chance of you setting foot in the UK is precisely ZERO."
"Illegal immigration will fall to ZERO. And that is a campaign guarantee.”
After reading the The Rape Gang Inquiry Report.
My first thoughts were how horrific, my heart breaks for the 250k victims.
My second thought is where in thee fck are the MEN in these kids lives. All of the Fathers, Uncles, Brothers and husbands of these young girls/women. Within a short period of time after the assaults took place there should have been 250k less Pakistani Muslim Pedophiles.
I am 100% fully prepared to DIE or go to Prison for the rest of my life if this happened to my daughter's or any young lady in my family.
What happened to MEN?
Joe Rogan: "I think in the UK, because you guys don’t have free speech laws, cause it’s just different over there, you can get away with a lot of crazy s*it."
