Yes i know, different lighting and slightly different angle but i think it’s pretty obvious that some mass was put on
11 years ago today, Delta Force operator MSG Joshua Wheeler was killed leading the charge during a pre-dawn raid to rescue roughly 70 hostages from an ISIS prison compound in Iraq.
A 20-year Army veteran who rose from the 75th Ranger Regiment into the unit’s most demanding roles, Wheeler repeatedly exposed himself to heavy enemy fire when the assault stalled, helping breach the compound and keep the mission alive until he was mortally wounded. He was the first American service member killed in direct combat against ISIS.
A husband and father of four from Roland, Oklahoma, he completed numerous combat deployments during his career and earned 11 Bronze Stars (four with Valor devices) plus a posthumous Silver Star.
Quiet, relentless, and unwilling to leave anyone behind, Wheeler embodied the quiet professionalism of the operators who take the hardest missions.
Never forgotten.
Nas and his protector in life: his brother Jungle.
They grew up together in Queensbridge, long before the fame, when all they really had was each other.
As Nas rose to become one of the greatest rappers of all time, Jungle stayed right there, not in the spotlight, but always close, always present.
Decades later, nothing changed. Still side by side.💯
Master Sergeant Kevin Holland is the only publicly known operator to have served in both SEAL Team 6 (DEVGRU) and Delta Force (1st SFOD-D).
From SEAL Team 8 and Desert Storm deep recon work, to selection into DEVGRU, a post-9/11 return to service as a Green Beret, and years as a Delta assaulter, he completed roughly 20 deployments and more than 2,000 combat missions.
On the night of December 13, 2003, during Operation Red Dawn, he was part of the small team that famously pulled Saddam Hussein from his spider hole.
He earned seven Bronze Stars (two for valor) and two Purple Hearts after surviving an IED and a near-fatal 2011 chest wound from a PKM at close range.
A rare, quietly legendary career that bridges the absolute tip of the spear.
Respect.
