‼️ Stop Hitting Kids in the Head ‼️
And no, I don’t mean stop kids from playing sports. I mean stop putting young athletes in situations where repeated hits to the head are treated as part of the game - and therefore are at risk of getting CTE.
Sports give kids so much: teammates, confidence, discipline, fitness, competition, and joy. I want kids to have all of that. But we can give them those benefits without making head impacts part of the experience.
Flag football instead of tackle football. Soccer without heading. Hockey without checking.
These aren’t anti-sports choices. They’re ways to reduce exposure to repetitive head impacts while keeping kids in the game.
Research continues to show that long-term exposure to repetitive head impacts cause CTE, reducing that exposure is a vital step in CTE prevention.
So when I say Stop Hitting Kids in the Head, I’m not saying take sports away from kids. I’m saying change the rules so they can play without getting CTE.
Unfortunately due to multiple blood transfusions and other procedures my antibodies are very elevated making me not available to match with a large amount of people. If you considered filling out this form I ask for anyone out there to consider the swap program. This would open me up to a nation wide database of donors and potentially save the life of multiple people in a chained swap. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to reach out.
Essentially what the swap program is, someone would donate to someone in the country they match on my behalf and and a donor would donate to me who I match.
In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.
VIDEO | "American Zionists get the benefits of white privileged people but talk like they are Black people during slavery."
During an episode of the YouTube series SubwayTakes, The Strokes front man Julian Casablancas calls out what he described as being the “white privilege” of “American Zionists.”
“American Zionists get the benefits of white privileged people but talk like they are Black people during slavery,” he said.
“Well, it’s been nice having a career,” he quipped, before setting out his position that “American Zionists get the benefits of white privileged people, but talk like they are Black people during slavery”.
Casablancas went on to say: “I mean, just for the people that are gonna be like, ‘Hamas, October 7th’, yes, bad, but you know, Native American rebellions didn’t mean it was ok to do what we did. Slave rebellions that were violent didn’t mean that slavery is not bad.”
