Just when the case appears to be nearing its conclusion, and after nearly four years of detention without securing a conviction on their original allegations, they have now decided to introduce another 17-count charge — largely repeating the same claims already before the court.

For years, the public has been fed one narrative after another, yet when Tukur Mamu finally opened his defence, he directly challenged many of the allegations and explained his role in the train abduction negotiations. He maintained that the charges against him are “frivolous” and “unfounded,” insisting that he never collected ransom, never financed terrorism, and only became involved after being approached by the committee set up by the then Chief of Defence Staff.

As we have always said, we are not afraid of any allegation brought against Tukur Mamu. What matters is proof, and after all these years, that remains the real issue. They can file 17 charges, 50 charges, or even 100 charges, but allegations are not evidence.

I've never seen a more selfless man than my father🫶 he's been locked up for 3 years but all he's thinking of is the welfare of the people that were depending on him😭 most are not even even his family.

Any small money we get, a tura ma wannan a tura ma wancan a turama wacce😭.. kai Allah ya isa wallahi, tarnishing his reputation the way this heartless authorities did is more painful than the incarceration.
