@HughLouisDewey Aesthetic harm as grounds for standing? Unless the judges plan to somehow make that apply to Trump only that’s a can of worms they’ve opened up.
@JoelWBerry Could always drop the tariffs. Until ten minutes ago folks who claim to be conservative understood that tariffs are taxes paid by consumers.
@varadmehta Threatening Pulte would probably be an even better choice for any acting cabinet position that the Senate is stalling. That can basically be Pulte's role going forward. Confirm my guy or you get Pulte coming in to break things. See how the new DNI guy got the rocket docket.
@kwrob24@JamieDuffDevOPs@gummibear737 Unfortunately Trump greenlighted the massive spending during COVID. Cutting checks to individuals and paying businesses to shut down was a Trump thing.
@gummibear737 Putting tariffs on all sorts of grocery items that are almost exclusively imported does raise prices. Trump's entire tariff program did nothing but make things more expensive for US consumers.
@JesseKellyDC Yep. "Finish the job" never gets detailed, because of what it would require. The war is already opposed by almost 2/3rds of US voters. Add in cheap FPV drones which Iran has thousands and it would be a total mess.
@ostap@Marian_L_Tupy How would Democrats prohibit price increases? Would a retailer need to get permission from some government entity to raise the price of the items they sell?
@JonahDispatch@Marian_L_Tupy Folks who don't like self-checkouts can always choose to shop somewhere else. I'm sure there are plenty of small shops they could patronize, but of course the prices are probably higher.
@dailydownforce One simple fix would be a rule that says any caution within ten laps of a stage break means that caution period counts as the stage break.
