The whole “pro choice” movement is completely ridiculous.
When you choose to open your legs to have irresponsible sex, you’ve made your choice.
That doesn’t give you the right to murder your offspring, just because you don’t want to deal with the consequences of your actions.
I agree with Begg that we can not endorse or support a same-sex “wedding.” Many have acted like Begg doesn’t have this view. Those people are wrong, so that’s where I disagree with many of the online commentators.
I disagree with Begg in that he thinks attending the “wedding” can be said not to endorse it given that the couple knows the grandma in question disapproves and holds to Christian values. I disagree on the messaging that’s sent when she attends. A fair point to disagree on given that Begg qualifies this situation with the requirement that the grandkid in question is aware of the grandmother’s stance against this sin and proclamation of the gospel. I think that attending still PROBABLY sends that messaging. Though I would not make a giant thing out of it since his qualifiers add enough context that this should not be a major issue.
Those who ignore Begg’s historical teaching or ignore his very important qualifiers are being clumsy and causing unnecessary drama.
In my little neighbor circle, I’m the only Black dude.
When their daughters are having my daughter over for a play date, they don’t see color.
When we’re BBQing in the summer, we don’t see color.
When our wives are all having brunch, they don’t see color.
When the dads are all gathered around outside the dance studio for our daughters (because we all refuse to go in), we don’t see color.
When we’re going to the range, we don’t see color.
If left alone, most people simply see you as a friend and neighbor. They’re not thinking about your color unless it’s pertinent to the conversation.
Don’t let the race baiters keep racism alive. Let’s end it.
@BonifaceOption Calling Begg “weak”? You’re an absolute clown. One error and he’s suddenly weak? He’s done more for the kingdom than you will in your life
Christians can devote free time to any number of things like fishing, sports, or gardening without rebuke, but devote your free time to opposing wickedness in culture and suddenly other Christians are very concerned you’ve “forgotten the gospel”.
@kourtneelynne@IsabellaMDeLuca If being consistent on our values means we lose, then that’s fine. Better to lose with integrity and honoring God than to capitulate for mere worldly gain
